Evening/Morning/Afternoon Dakka

Just moved to the big city of Manchester for uni reason and my new LGC has a no allying tournament coming up very shortly and wanted your opinions on a list that I crafted with the restrictions

Thoughts I'm thinking of making, make the Hormagaunts 2x15 units, as well as cut the Gargoyles down to 1x15 and replace the Mawloc with a Tyrannofex with E-Grubs and Acid Spray.

Actually that last Heavy Support slot is open up for whatever the army needs more...considering Biovores, or even ditch the fast attack all together to fit in more Carnifexes and a Tyrannofex.

the current trend is to go double cad and get a 3rd flyrant.
10 man hormas dies very fast, and so does a lone venomthrope. I always go 2 venoms because otherwise it could be an easy first blood and then your tarpit is without its precious cover saves.
Id leave the HS slot as is, it looks decent but rearrange your elites with another venom in mind and clear some points in the FA slot to get that 3rd flyrant.

I'm thinking the same as cyberjonesy, go CAD or allied tyranid, depending on what's allowed where you will be playing.

If allied is ok, put in a 3rd flyrant, the 3rd horma is his troop, and split the carni broods to 4x1.
Probably drop mawloc and 1 carni for the 3rd flyrant, and 2nd venom.

My question is, how do you intend to play the running horma and the fast gargoyles with the heavies slogging behind?
Synapse management will be strainous with 2 zoa and 2 flyrant.

Looks pretty good.

I prefer to run Hormies in Broods of x15+, so that's the way I would lean. As you know I run "Thropes in Broods of x2 for durability. You'll be in a new "meta". so you might need to adjust as you go.

I really like Tyranofex with Thorax Hive, but I always get good value out of Mawloc as well. So either choice is good with me. I would expect the local "meta" will determine that....if "gunlines" are a thing, then Mawloc is a good answer.

How are you planning to provide Synapse to the 3rd "Bugstar"? (The Dime, and Hormies) I guess you could task a Tyrant, but that seems like a sub optimal job for such a mighty Big Bug.

I supoose the Gargoyles can do the job, but they are not OS.

So I suppose you can run two x15 Broods of Hormagaunts, and use Gargoyles to screen the Dime...

Personally I would swap the Dime for a Tyranofex, and smile all the way, but that is a "style" thing.
