So I'm tempted to just buy some models from the Warmachine/Hordes range just because I like them and want to try painting them (isn't that how all addictions start?) and the models I was probably drawn to most was the Protectorate models (even though their fluff is ) especially the Covenant. I mean it's a giant book that blocks spells like the old spice guy blocks odor and makes enemies in its area of influence spontaneously combust upon being struck

My question to you, is what would you inscribe in the book? What sayeth the one true God?

I was thinking something along the lines of "A pillar of fire was called down upon the heretic's head and God spake, saying "feth you in particular" and it was good"

Another one I can see being written in the Book of Menoth: "First shalt thou take out the Holy Pin. Then shalt thou count to three, no more, no less. Three shall be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, neither count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out." I think the True Law would have very specific instructions

If you want something more in universey try this:

Personally, I always wanted to write "Menoth Says NO" on my Covenant, because it's basically his favorite phrase.

Slight correction. It makes enemy models directly hit by a chosen friendly unit suffer continuous fire. It doesn't make any enemy that gets hit while within 10" get lit on fire.

Anyway, the fluff is awesome. I don't what fluff you're reading.

My Covenant actually does say Menoth says NO!, in Protectorate runes.

"Burn in righteous fire!"
"By fire be purged!"
...etc.

How about if the guy is actually reading a comic book he's hidden inside the Book (or a pinup magazine if you think that's funnier)? Print out a couple of downsized comic pages on transfer paper, make it smaller than the page and draw little bits of text around the borders to represent the page underneath.
