I wasn't really sure where to post this topic, so my apologies if there is a better forum for this.

I was wondering if anyone knew where I could find a cheap 4'x6' table? I know that most people either build their own tables or make gaming boards to go on top of smaller tables. I, however, am not the least bit handy, and I really want to be able to have a normal table that can easily double as a gaming board when the moment arises. Most tables that I can find online are all 3'x6' so I have been unable to find anything that would work for my gaming purposes. Please let me know if you have any ideas on where to look. Thanks!

You can always buy saw horses and a 4x8 sheet of wood from Lowe's/Home Depot/whatever. Just mark off a foot at each end if you don't want to cut anything- makes a good place to set books, dice, and whatever else you use during a game.

I will admit that I was hoping for something a little classier but if that is my only option I may just have to go for it.

Whenever you get the time/money you can start adding to it. Paint, foam layers, and nicer terrain. I started out with a plywood sheet, shoes, and coke cans myself.

when you buy the plywood also buy some 2x4's. that way you can build a frame around the edge and under the center in an x fashion to prevent sagging

I am getting the feeling that I am being misunderstood. I want to find a regular old table, one which you could eat off of, have family sit around, etc. I just need that table to be 6'x4' so that when the mood arises, I can put some terrain down and play some 40k with my wife. My problem is that all the tables that I can find online are not the correct dimensions. I am just wondering if anyone has ever found a table of the correct dimensions that fits the description above.

Blondewood sheets are ~$30 and so far haven't sagged on me yet. I usually put a few small concrete blocks(2x2x2) in with other terrain pieces and it's lasted a few years.

If you've got enough room you can just buy two 72"x30" folding tables. You can buy them off Amazon for about $60. Granted you'd need to put something down over the seam between the two tables and you'd have extra room but they'd be dual purpose and relatively easy to store somewhere.

Unless it's a picnic table, or a really old farmhouse table your dinner tables will have rounded edges. You can try flea markets and eBay and you might find somethig close.

That's a really good call. I think I saw a 72"x 24" one somewhere which would be perfect.

As for budget, not sure yet. Hoping for under $125 but I am flexible.

Nothing simpler than two folding tables and a piece of plywood.

Not remotely as cheep but game chic has REALLY nice Game tables that double as Dinning room tables.

If you want to get crafty you could woodwork something similar your self.

Hi there,

One suggestion came to me: if you're not particularly handy, you might be able to find someone who is, like a local builder or carpenter who could build you a table to your specs.

I don't know how much this would cost, but it might be worth checking out.

More to the point, you could set them on top of a less beamy table and get the width you require.
