Hey guys, 1st of all let me apologies in advance if this does not belong here.

Now i been racking my brain for weeks trying to remember a mini i seen a while ago, the mini itself is a massive dragon with a elf i think riding it. It's base is a ruined castle and the dragon itself is HUGE. I think the people who made it and got it painted chose to paint it in greens/blues/purples, it really is a beautiful mini. If anyone can point me in the direction of this mini I'd be SO grateful this is driving me NUTS!

Thanx guys

Wasn't the GW was it?

Here's a couple of dragons. None of these have elves but it could have been a conversion you saw.

I'd dearly love to find a client rich and crazy enough to let me paint that. Personally, there's no where in my home for something that big.

Pity it was a limited run. I'd buy one if it was still for sale.

Dude, it's two feet tall, and about the same in length tail tip to snout. Costs a bomb to produce.

I don't know much about the casting process for something like this but, yeah, I guess it wouldn't be cheap to produce and maintain the moulds. Especially as it's probably not a large volume seller.
Shipping probably ain't too cheap either it it weighs any where near what I'm guessing it weighs.

Also, is anyone else having trouble accessing the CMON site? I keep getting "fatal error" reports.

Many things about that model are great, and I don't know much about Iguana musculature, but I'm kind of with Vermis on this one. The arms look so human to me, it kind of ruins the look and scale. Iguanas do seem to have muscles somewhat similar to humans and their fingers (no opposable thumb though) do have similarieis, but in bulking them out far beyond normal skinny iguana proportions it got a bit to anthropomorphic.

Not that I could do better, and the quality of sculpting is absolutely outstanding, just doesn't work for me.

Speaking from a purely bio-mechanical perspective, a creature that could fly and/or hold itself up on a castle should not have musculature anywhere resembling a land based creature that's primary form of locomotion is dragging itself along the ground.

If it needs to due primate like motions (arms wrapped around a structure), it needs to have primate musculature.

No wargames these days, more DM/Painting.

I paint things occasionally. Some things you may even like!

Except they don't drag themselves along the ground (as that picture of the lizard in the tree should indicate). Or if you prefer - look at lizards from the Draco genus...they tend to live in trees - and fly.

I had the same issues when it first came up for sale, as large dragons are a particularly strong draw for me. However, the dragon with the Gold's Gym membership allowed me to avoid breaking my ban on all things CMoN - so I am thankful for that.

Magneficient Egos' (now Valiant) Greater Dragon is still the most impressive one of recent years. And not limited.
