Dragon Forge Design brings you the ultimate complement to its very popular Ancient Ruins bevel edge base series.

Design and Sculpting of Ancient Ruins II

Since its launch, Ancient Ruins has been one of the most popular base series at Dragon Forge Design. It is now time for a breath of fresh air with a well deserved complement series: Ancient Ruins II. Such additions are usually implemented 2 or 3 sets at a time in order to gradually absorb the financial and labor cost of creating and producing new bases. With Ancient Ruins II, we could not limit our excitement. It is 15 new sets with over 50 new bases that will be released at once. After months of overtime labor, we can say with pride that the sculpting is done, the masters are crafted and we are ready to move to production.

Ancient Ruins II offer you a variation on its little brother. Even though the styles are slightly different, Ancient Ruins and Ancient Ruins II are fully compatible. Furthermore, Ancient Ruins II will offer you great possibilities for water effects with more "Waters Edge" than ever. These are recessed areas that allow you to pour your favorite water medium to recreate water, blood or toxic waste. A tutorial on water effect will be offered with every pledge.

Six new bases sets will be offered at launch. They are as follows:

If you're unfamiliar with the Dragon forge bases, they are always impeccably cast. I've never received a single base from Dragon Forge with even an air bubble. Super high quality stuff.

I'm probably going to horde a bunch of these bases for either my Horus Heresy Ultramarines or Space Wolves.

I love Dragon Forges bases too. Him being a one man shop makes me sad sometimes but the bases themselves are ace.

Well, this topic (and the previous mentions by extension) seals the deal. I'm in for at least a few bases.

Poorly lit photos of my ever- growing collection of completely unrelated models!

Very happy to see those 30mm bases unlocked; I've been putting my trolls from Mierce Miniatures on 60mm Ancient Ruins bases, and plan to put the minotaurs on the 50mm ones, but there hasn't been any 30mm beveled bases in this series to go with the human sized infantry.

I like them well enough I just wish they would put in a option for a flying stand on the oval bases the one they show has a void in the center where most people put the stand.
Having a slot shaped like the flying stand bottom would make the bond stronger and meld the stand with the base

This has gone through the first three stretch goals, unlocking a lot of new types of bases, and is now very nearly at $3,500 where the first freebies in the form of objective markers will start coming into play. Personally, I'm excited about the freebies at stretch goal N and O (the monolith and the altar); I hope we reach those. The pillars that are now unlocked are also very, very nice.

Round Lip Base Fans, Consider them unlocked! I decided I could unlock them early and move on to some extras for the round lips and some more terrain items!

* I added these base sets as a stretch goal as I need the funding from it to release them and to keep sculpting more sets.

I added the $48.00 pledge level to make it easier for those only wishing round lip bases to pledge.

If you wish a mix of both bevel edge and round lip I will work it all out in the end in the pledge manager and you may add these sets to your pledge. These base sets can be added to any pledge. What is most important here is getting them funded

Well you did it, you convinced me to add Round Lip style bases in the Ancient Ruins II theme to this Kickstarter. So welcome to Ancient Ruins II- Wave II

28 new sculpts and conversions and 3 sleepless nights of non-stop work I bring you the following sets ready to go into molds.

These are the originals, ready for master molding so unlike the Bevel Edge, no painted copies yet to present.

Five new bases sets will be offered at launch of the Ancient Ruins II Round Lip Line. They are as follows:

Kickstarter Exclusive Ancient Ruins II Heroic Base Set with Round Lip edge.
Set of 4 Bases
Set includes one 50 mm base, one 40 mm base and two 30 mm bases. This is an exclusive Limited edition set only available with this Kickstarter. One set will be included with each $48.00 pledge level. Additional sets may be added for $7.50

Set RL-A - 30 mm Ancient Ruins II with Round Lip Edge.
Set of 10 Bases
Additional sets may be added to your pledge for $9.00 retail price will be $10.00

Set RL- B - 40 mm Ancient Ruins II with Round Lip Edge.
Set of 5 Bases
Additional sets may be added to your pledge for $9.00 retail price will be $10.00

Set RL - C - 50 mm Ancient Ruins II with Round Lip Edge.
Set of 2 Bases
Additional sets may be added to your pledge for $9.00 retail price will be $10.00

Set RL-D - Heroic Ancient Ruins II Base Set of 30 mm and 40 mm Bases with Round Lip Edge.
Set of 7 Bases
Additional sets may be added to your pledge for $9.00 retail price will be $12.00

What will be next?
Maybe a 80 mm or 120 mm base? stay tuned..

This stuff continues to look really fantastic. Six days to go!

A pledge of at least $50 is now a pretty nice deal as you then get one each of the objective markers included for free (sets L-O).

I just finished a couple of Mierce trolls mounted on some of the already existing Ancient Ruins Dragon Forge bases. These bases are so easy to work with; love em!

Those are nicely done, Trodax! These definitely add significantly to the height of miniatures - would be great for my dwarfs

This is counting down in hours now, last chance to get in on some mighty fine bases people!

All pledges of at least $50 now receive the four objective markers (Sets L-O) included for free. There is also a new pledge level ($48) for round-lipped bases if that is your preferred style, and as per the latest unlocked stretch goal (#10) this pledge level now also receives a free 80 mm base. Honestly, that addition makes this pledge level look like a pretty great deal; I personally don't really like the look of the round lip, but this almost makes me reconsider my aversion.

Oh, and there is presently a $52 EB open for someone to grab!

What dwarves, I can't see... oh there they are, the stumpy little runts. Yep, you're right, those guys could definitely benefit from some kind of stepping stone.
