Hey all, I have been working on a relatively original and hopefully semi-competitive list, I'm trying to avoid the whole Assault Marine spam that seems to be common in Blood Angel list these days, I was just wondering what you thought of this list.

HQ-Gabriel Seth (goes in stormraven)

Elites- Techmarine with servo harness

Chaplin-(in stormraven)

Tactical Squad A (10 Marines with 1xflamer 1xMulti Melta in a drop pod melta bombs)

Tactical Squad B (10Marines with 1xmelta 1xMissile Launcher in a Rhino melta bombs)

Death Company (8 marines with bolters and two power fists in stormraven)

Scout Squad (10 Scouts all with snipers and camo cloaks with a heavy bolter)

Baal Predator (Flamestorm Cannon+dozer blade) will be outflanking to distract some fire away from the stormraven)

Stormraven(twin linked Multi Melta and Twin linked Plasma cannon)

Would really appreciate any feedback, I haven't played the game for a while and am very unsure what is still viable/unviable

Thanks

The tac squads need to decide how they're going to enter battle and coordinate.

It needs to be all the same style of transport. Other wise it's a lot of jacks and no aces in play style.

Blood Angels are (or were depending on who you ask) famous for the rhino rush.

I'm going to feel terrible if I'm telling you to change lists when you've already bought your units, but 2 stormravens dropping troops and removing either your DC or a tac squad, in favor of some anti-tank would do you good.

That way you have highly mobile ob-secs in beastly flyers and a well balanced army equipped with units to handle any task.

Thanks for your response dude, fortunately I have only bought the tactical marines and the scouts so there is room for improvement haha

I do agree with you the Rhino's do look very appealing considering how fast they can move, but after watching other people play drop pods are amazing at taking objectives because nobody really wants to waste a shooting phase blowing it up.
Rhino's on the other hand seem to be very vulnerable at every stage in the game, even a squad of SM/CSM can easily destroy them with bolt guns, while drop pods require something a bit more 'eavy'

But yeah you are defiantly right about the lack of anti-Armour in my army, which unit would you advice?

Rhinos can die easily, but this day in age anything dies easily...

Yours are fast!

Lascannons! Pack a dev squad with 4 lascannons in a building and do what they do best. Or take the flamers and missile launcher out and do meltagun/Multi-melta.

I actually am a huge fan of las-preds. I run two and love them everytime. But with the powerfists and killing power of the stormravens, you should be fine there.

** (sorry if this post comes across as a bit aggressive Iol as I've read through it, it seems a little aggressive sorry again lol, wasn't meant as such)

you are blood angles...... why are you using tac marines??

ASM are better in every single way.. movement, assault, weapon options.. and if you wanna razor spam (not rhinos, they're a rip off being 55pts) you get a 35 pt discount for trading in their jps and essentially get a free weapon upgrade for your razorback.

Also what is the tech marine for? rather try take a sanguinary priest and add him to another squad giving them and anyone in 6" furious charge and fnp.

I've played BA alot and from what I can see you made the same mistake I made initially by trying to play them like any other marine team... BA out manoeuvre their opponents and hit hard in cc, it's where we thrive. Don't underestimate the usefulness of jump packs, they trump guy in a metal box everytime.

for anti-armour PREDS!! they're more expensive than everyone elses but they're still good at what they do. otherwise drop pod in a squad of sternguard with combi-meltas. also don't forget the storm raven does have 4 s8 ap1 missiles + twin-linked multi-melta + lascannon.

asm with 2 melta+melta bomb/powerfist can also fill the needed anti-armour spot.

Stormravens are generally terrible for transporting assault units. The earliest your stuff gets into assault is turn 3, and you have to convert the Stormraven to hover mode to drop them off.

The problem with the list as it stands is that you've got all your eggs in the Stormraven basket. Not only does it need to come in from reserves - and there will be games where it will fail to come in until turn 4. Also if it gets shot down everyone is getting S10 AP2 hits

i agree that putting too much in a raven isn't a great idea, i use 5 d.co pretty effectively.. They are great late game when they're at full strength charging down cc squads that have taken casualties or blobs of infantry..

all depends on your play style..
