Just wondering if anyone has tried or knows of a good list (25-50 points) for a pretty much all M-O-W army with maybe a jack or 2. All ive got is the shocktroopers but demo core or bombardiers would be cool. Anyone know how well a list like this would do? Would be fairly slow, but that's just usual khador haha.

Skitarii/cult mech 2500

If you must run a MOW focused list, I'd go with the following.

eIrusk
-Behemoth
-Sylys Wyshnalyrr

Max Demo Corps
Max Shock Troopers
Max Shock Troopers

Winterguard Mortar
Winterguard Mortar

Ironfang Kovnik
Ironfang Kovnik
Man-o-war Kovnik


This about as good as you can get, and its really not that great. You'll do poorly in Scenario play because its very slow relatively speaking. Khador is normally pretty fast actually(light infantry faction)

yea id recommend against it, MOW units just arent good and Khador lacks the means to properly support them.

Well, if you use Vlad3 and an IFK for each ST, they're ALMOST fast. -_- Moving 7" while in shieldwall

It's not exactly an optimal concept but it can work if set up right. The Iron Fang Kovnik is an essential support piece to mitigate your speed troubles with Shocktroopers, Battle Mechaniks w/UA are a useful addition to keep your MOWs alive. I'd expect EIrusk to be the best warcaster for this concept; Fire For Effect makes Bombardiers ridiculous, Tactical Supremacy makes Shocktroopers faster, and Battle Lust on the Democorps makes strong men weep.

It has plenty of bad matchups and it's not great with terrain but if you play it well you can give the MOW blob a good showing.

Balanced Game: Noun. A game in which all options and choices are worth using.

Fire For Effect is 1 model only, not unit if i recall correctly. So it's really only 1 bombardier getting it and you're probably better off getting a Mortar instead

Looks like I misread that one. Still helps with the speed problem and makes the melee MOWs terrifying, and you probably have space for the mortar crew anyway.

tactical supremacy makes one unit slightly more mobile but not in a way that increases their threat range which is the real issue.

battle lust iw okay, but MOW damage output isnt what they need help with, STs need volume of attacks anf DCs need defensive buffs (or a threat range buff)

Ultimately, eIrusk can make one unit of Shocktrooper work in a competitive list, but no more than that. They act as a second wave unit which can contest zones.

I've built a MOW army I really like.

I'll submit it here for consideration and would love to get some feed back too. It's a non-standard build for MOW even though I use E-Irusk as the caster.

List is

E-Irusk
- Sylys
- Berzerker

Iron Fang Kovnik x2
Saxon
Widow Maker Marksman
MOW Shock troopers (MAX) x3
Doom Reavers x2

Concepts.
- First you'll notice I take the most un loved jack in the Khador stable. The reason for this is that I need that extra point for MOW support staff.
- Marksman is the Fire for Effect target. A Double boosted rat 8 pow 12 sniper is pretty darn good for 2 points.
- MOW are normally deployed in a line abreast for a 15 model long wall. The center unit gets tac supremacy. The others get the Kovinik bonus. Now my MOW advance in shield wall 7" or 6".
- Doomies are behind the MOW wall waiting to charge through with Martial Disciple.
- Saxon is a bit of flex because of artifice of deviation, but MOW never want to worry about terrain.

What's the advantage of a wall of 15 medium bases if there's only a small number of fast Reach small bases waiting behind them? I wonder if you'd be better off swapping one unit for the Democorps, for more punch?

Personally I would drop the Marksman to upgrade the Berserker. Drop another model as well (Sylyss perhaps?) and you can upgrade to Black Ivan or a Destroyer, who might be a better FFE target.

Hi. I'd like to throw in a suggestion for Butcher1 tier.

Pros:

You have the Butcher
MOW shocks get -1 point discount
There's a tier bonus to speed up MOWs on turn 1
There's a tier bonus to speed up jacks on turn 1
Tier allows both WGI -and- Widowmakers!!!

Cons:

You have MOWs.

I find this list pretty fun if you go balls-out and run three full squads of MOWs (I usually go 2x Shocks 1x Demo) and a pile of cheap beatstick jacks like Juggernauts.
