London

So I was at a Doubles tournament this weekend (1K each) in London where we came 3rd with a combo of Tau (2 riptides, Y'Varah, R'Varna and 2 Tetra) and Necrons (2 AB's and a T C'tan)

We done really well until our last match up where we faced double T C'tan, who swiftly stole the initiative (apparently they stole 3/4 games, shady or what!?!). What was obvious is that T C'tans will be a big problem in any upcoming tournament for the foreseeable future that allows LOW. Hence i have built the below list with the express purpose of tacking such monstrosities and still able to preform in Maelstrom missions (which also seem to be prevalent in recent tournaments). I'll try to explain a bit about each units composition and purpose through out the list. I'll be play testing this list in preparation for my next tournament so any tips on changes or tactical advice are welcome!

Tau

+HQ+
Commander w/ TL Missile Pod, Drone Controller, EWO, Neuroweb System Jammer, Iridium Armour, XV84 Battlesuit (Forge World inbuilt target lock and Markerlight which dont count towards total war gear), 2x Marker Drones - 189pts

[Mobile markerlight platform and a sturdy warlord. With the forgeworld XV84 marker suit and EWO he can now intercept with a markerlight! + all markers from his unit hit on 2+]

+Elites+
Riptide 1 w/ HBC, SMS, EWO, Velocity Tracker - 205pts [For skyfire and hordes/light tanks/MC's when nova charged]
Riptide 2 w/ IA, SMS, EWO - 190 [For anti heavy infantry and tanks]

+Troops+
6x Fire Warrior Team - 54 [placed in reserve for late back field objectives mostly]
10x Kroot Carnivore w/ Sniper Rounds - 70pts [outfield infiltrating objective grabbers, anti MC]

+Fast Attack+
Tetra Scout Speeder 1 w/ Sensor Spines - 40pts [mobile markerlights]
Tetra Scout Speeder 2 w/ Sensor Spines - 40pts [mobile markerlights]
Y'varah Battlesuit w/ Stims - 265pts [Very fast anti tank and infantry of all types]

+Heavy Support+
Sniper Drone Team w/ 2x Firesight Marksmen, 3x Drones - 71pts [Accurate markerlights +Anti MC snipers]
R'varna - 260 pts [Cluster rule make it great for various units and very sturdy back field objective holder]

Eldar

+HQ+
Farseer w/ Jetbike, Mantle of the Laughing God, Spirit Stone of Anath'lan, Spear - 175pts

[Will roll on Summoning and Telepathy for Shriek, will summon additional units that can tie up C'Tans and other tough creatures as well as mobile scoring units (Summoning reduced to 2 warp charges and can ignore perils!)]

+Troops+
3x Guardian Jetbikes - 51pts [Fast obsec Scoring]

+Heavy Support+
Wraith Knight - 240pts [Fast, decent in combat and 2x S10 shots with the chance to cause ID or extra wounds on Units like the C'tan]

Daemons available to summon:

10x Daemonetts
10x Plague Bearers
10x Pink Horrors
3x Nurgling bases
5x Seekers
2x Heralds
Daemon Prince

So overall a fast durable army with 5 MC's and the ability to summon more units. Some Psychic and CC capabilities and excellent shooting.
Can anyone seen any obvious flaws or things that could be improved. Happy to answer any questions about the list.

What weapons/stats does a Y'varah battlesuit have? I'm assuming fusion blasters because it's stated purpose is anti tank. Also where can I find rules/the model for this fancy battlesuit with Inbuilt markerlight and target lock?

The uk tournament scene is so much more competitive than the us.

Rules for the Y'varah can be found in the above link.

Essentially it has a AP 3 S6 6" torrent Flamer which can be AP2 S6 6" torrent and fire Twice if it overcharges (overheat) and a Ion discharge Cannon which is S8 AP 3 Heavy 3 (or Nova 3+D3), each hit counts as a S8 hit AND Haywire so each hit against a tank is essentially 2 hits per shot. It can also move 24" every other turn and a bunch of other special rules.

the rules for the battlesuit with inbuilt marker and target lock is in IA3 Second Edition Tarros Campaign. its only the cost of a a TL missile pod and its awesome on a commander!

From what i can see from watching the frontline guys and JY2 the US scene is pretty competitive. I would love to go to a huge american GT one day!
