Dakkites,

I haven’t been on here in a while and I must apologise. I have been sticking my head in the sand with regards to the new End Times supplements coming out and I have been trying to not entertain them. However I bought the Glotkin, had a read and its not horrible. However I still dislike the Lore of Undeath and I REALLY dislike the rumours I am hearing about the Magic Phase after the release of the Khaine book! However the End Times has started to bleed over into my tournament setting and I feel forced to embrace it or be left behind. Therefore at an uncomped event of 2400pts I have decided to use a Legions list and because its uncomped not a very fun one at that. This allows me to exploit my love of Daemons and Chaos at the same time.

All the scenarios are out of the book HOWEVER game 6 requires me to have an infantry or monstrous infantry unit with a standard to be able to contest a 'Forrest', that’s why the one unit in-particular has been added. The usual criticisms and comments are more than welcome, lets begin

Lords
Kairos Fateweaver

Heroes
Gorebull, Battle Standard Bearer, Shield, Mark of Tzeentch, Blackened Plate, Gnarled Hide, Other Tricksters Shard

Throgg

Core

Trolls (16)

Plaguebearers (15), Standard

Special

Beast - 60
Beast - 60

Rare

Skullcannon - 135
Skullcannon - 135

Hellcannon - 210

The concept I thought was quiet simple, park my horde close to my lines with beasts on flanks near my artillery. Use magic and ranged assaults to force my opponent to either stand and take it or fight my horde.

The list has been edited after what Welshhoppo said, as I thought it was pure genius.

1) The Gorebull has a 2+ save, Mark of Tzeentch makes him parry on a 5++, however would Mark of Nurgle suit him better for -1 to hit? and only a 6++ Parry? I haven't done the numbers.
2) I like the Hellcannon but could the points be spent smarter?]
3) Anything about the army I have missed that could work better?

It's THIS list.

You have the best things from each book with no downsides.

I'd prefer chariots and marauder horsemen over throgg and co, though.

If you are running full trolls, you might consider a gorebull with th blackened plate. Make him the Bsb and he fits in with the trolls and gives them a 4+ ward against flaming attacks. And frenY too.

What does the Gorebull have for protection, beyond the 4+ Ward versus Flaming?

Also, why Kairos, compared to Warriors characters? Just wondering what he'll add, etc.
Specifically, I'm looking that the Daemon Prince.

I'd consider dropping Throgg and his boys, too. More Chariots and chaff.

Also, does the Hellcannon compliment this list? Or would you do better putting those points to a Chimera or the like?

I'd go minimum Core and get a ton of points in Beasts of Nurgle.
Harpies and Furies? Chariots?

Plaguebearers are decent, but are they The Best Core Option?

Kairos adds Loremastery: Warhammer. With the advent of Khaine, any LoC list that doesn't include him is just either flat out wrong, or not a good competitive list at all. He's a flying level 4, with a ward, and all the spells you need to buff your army. He stacks with Plaguebearers quite well, as you can get them 4+ regen via a herald, and -2 to hit.

Throgg is kind of important to this list, as without him, you're relying on Kairos searing doom-ing off the world to deal with armour. Yes, they're I1, but with the big chicken you have all of lore of death life, metal, light, and shadow.

However, when I said Plaguebearers are good, that was a provisional statement. They're good with the regen.

EDITED MAIN LIST

-Thedarkavenger; I knew you would say maruader horsemen and chariots would be better, but would a Nascar list be as effective? The idea behind this list is to give very little points away however with multiple chariotrs dont you tend to loose more than you earn off of them? Just curious as have never done it yet.

-Welshhoppo; Done and Done, feel really silly I didn't see that sooner. However don't I loose a certain maneuverability by loosing my combat flying character?

- Warpsolution; Gorebull has a 2+ armour, High Toughness and either -1 to hit or a 5++ Parry, which ever is better.

Kairos is INFINATELY better than a Daemon Prince of ANY build in a magic support roll. He is designed to help me dominate the magic phase not be a combat lord like the DP build,

I always felt that the Nascar build gave up too many points in individual chariots, because you'll never keep them all alive. However I see your point about chaff and this list has 40 odd points left now, dogs or raiders?

I think he helps me thin troops before combat in ways a cannon can't

The plaguebeares only job is because I am required to have a infantry banner weilding unit for game 6, that costs under 200pts, therefore if you can think of a better one that them, feel free to share

Gorbull is frenzied and gets no parry at all.
List would be stronger with a few units to clear enemy chaff.
Ambushing flesh hounds are amazing. Consider 2 units of 5 in every list. They solve so many backfield problems it's stupid.

- HawaiiMatt; Thanks for reminding me about the Frenzy/Parry situation. I would love too but they are 165 points each, surely any backfield issues would be cleared with my 3 'warmachines' and magic?

I say trolls are worse than chariots because chariots control the movement phase better. And deploy them around Kairos to bubble Scaly Skin from Lore of metal, and watch your 1+ chariots shrug off anything that doesn't ignore armour.

So how many chariots? what marks?. I still think that they will give up points because I love playing against this list with my ogres because chain lightning, Thunderbolt, 2 units of 6 leadblechers and a cannon mean it wouldnt be hard for me to kill 5 a turn. I dont wanna give up 625 that easily on non marching chariots
