Started on my second conversion project, this one is a wraithlord I built I little while ago but is unpainted (which makes things a lot easier than with my pre-painted raider I worked on previously!)

I recently got a half-built deffdredd on ebay, which came with all the sprue components already snapped off and cleaned up in a nice little bag for me. Which made this conversion a lot easier! Also means that while building this, I also built the reast of the deff dread (though at a couple points I had to remove pieces from the deffdread that ahd been glued on, which I thought would work better on the Lord.)

Here's the pre picture, though I forgot to take this until after i had partially dismantled the wraithlord lol. You may notice I have also already altered the feet, giving it the bulkier spare deffdredd feet.

And now for the work in progress pictures.

Theres still a bunch of little bits that need doing, but I am liking how its turning out so far. I swapped out one of the Lord arms for a spare Deff one, as it needed to be butched up a bit! I still have a spare Deff arm, but I think I will keep it (or use it on the actual deff) as I like the way the wraithsword looks. I'll also keep the shoulder panzee flamer, as my Deffs will probably be equipped with 3 combat weapons + 1 flamer. Though I'm not sure how to model a 3rd CCW on the wraith... may not be necessary though, just put on some spikes or say the pointy teeth are a CCW lol

Oh and yeh, the grot controller. I'm loving that little guy.

The arms are both magnetised, so they can be removed for storage or for swapping out for other things. The grot platform is also magnetised, so the platform+controller removes as one solid piece.

I'd like to hear anyone thoughts on this It's not an original idea but I'm pleased with how my version of it is turning out. Especially like how the head now looks (I removed the wriathlord head completely).

Here is the next set of update pics primed and painted the grot, which was my first ork paintjob using mostly washes. For me, I think its a pretty good job haha. Though some detail work may be done in the long run.

I've also added some bits to the sword, and added a bit of gubbinz on the shoulder which will be a force field generator (not actually a KFF, its just so that the grot is "armoured", fluffwise lol).
