I might be attending a tournament which is supposed to focus on nicely painted armies, with good themes and background etc. The organizers have the right to ban lists you send in so I wont be playing against the worst power builds. I want to bring an army that is effective and something the opponent will like to play against at the same time. Im thinking about this:

I think that you should get the spell familiar for the Prince, trust me from expirience, it does a lot of good.

I will add the familiar! Cause when I suffer perils and other random I tend to roll bad, no matter on what table I roll.

I need the lord for Plague marines as troops, but the Deamon prince and biker lord might be Overkill? One thing I'm thinking about is taking a lord with only mon, blight grenades and black mace and either put him with cultists making them fearless and a big threat, using their champion for challenges.. Or put him with a squad of PM in the land raider. Then add another bike and give the bike champ a power fist, hoping t6 will give him a chance to use it.

Only 3 bikers for the biker lord?

The biker lord should also have a lightning claw for the classic PF/LC combo. If you don't understand that loadout just ask and I'll elaborate. The biker lord also should probably have a larger squad of bikers escorting him. 3 T6 models with 3+/5++ saves don't last too long at 1700 points if they have too much aggro. Also, you don't need blight grenades on your biker lord because you shouldn't be getting charged on bikes, instead you should be the one charging with your superior mobility.

I feel the land raider really isn't needed. Nothing you could put in it in your list is worth the points. Bolters are not worth land raiders. Give your Plague Marines rhinos instead. Also, while fun, the icon of despair seldom seems to be worth the points.

You also have no anti-air for 1700 points, where you will for sure be seeing fliers.

You have the right idea, but lots of small point inefficiencies. Here is a revised list I would take instead while keeping your theme:

1700 ish Points:

I like your list but sadly I have a limited number of models (all listed in my first post). I'll have to do the best with what I have

One thing I want to try out is the Plague Marine deathstar, and Typhus with plague zombies is always solid, maybe combined with a Deamon prince without levels just geared for fighting.. I came up with two more lists:

About 230 pts left, Terminators together with Typhus and deep strike? Raptors or bikes for speed. If I take 4 bikes and (cool models that will also give me painting pts) I can afford a small 3-man Nurgle Termie squad with combi-weapons that might be useful to deep strike and deal with support units and cheap enough so I dont havet to care IF it doesnt work?

Lolz, he thinks plague marines are a death star! They are more like an overpriced tarpit.

Couldn't you take a warpsmith so you can unlock more relics?

A plague marine unit isn't a deathstar:
I love the unit, but it just isn't killy enough or fast enough without an attached HQ to de a real deathstar.
Nurgle bikers or Warp Talons + Lord do it better.

I would drop the termis, and take more obliterators.
If you can, take a nurgle soulgrinder and nurglings.
