So I've dusted off all my unpainted Romanians after a self imposed hiatus from hobbying in general. There's close to 3000 points of the buggers... In an effort to get them all painted I went hunting for my reference material binder, which seems to have vanished. As a result I've got no clue what to do as far as the transport goes paint wise. From what I remember all of the German supplied equipment was mostly left dark grey with Romanian built units were a darker olive green. Does anyone (specifically thinking Big P if he's still around) have any info on whether or not I'm correct on this? I don't want to paint up 30+ transport vehicles only to find out I need to repaint over half

Just my 2 cents

According to Battlefront's supplementary materials, the basic gist of your post is correct for everything else. So I would imagine that it's correct for the transports as well. However, since you're looking at Late War, the vehicles and guns should be painted in Dunkelgelb instead of grey.

I don't think you'll have any Romanian-built trucks, though, as the only truck plant in Romania was a Ford plant that was limited to 2WD vehicles. If you want to have more than just German vehicles, then I'd recommend tossing in some captured Soviet trucks.

I've got 3 blisters worth of Soviet trucks so that's covered. I was under the impression that it was mostly the older German equipment that the Romanians got though, hence why it would be grey in late war... I might have to paint up a chunk in Dunkelgelb though

No, they received equipment from the Germans right up until they switched sides. The equipment was usually refurbished, and it was often second tier, but they got it. In fact, when Romania switched sides, there was a shipment of Hetzers en route from Germany (that obviously never ended up in Romania as a result). And there was a bit of a scandal a month prior when a German Panzer Division stole a bunch of refurbished German tanks that had just been handed over to the Romanians, and were supposed to equip a new Romanian armored formation that was in training.

Anything that came from the Germans, post 43 would have been in Dunkelgelb, though of course it could come in Czech paint stock like the Hetzers. Any 'refurbished' vehicles, done at replacement repair depots generally also got a respray. Once the order to go to yellow was issued, any vehicle coming in for repair to the rear depots was resprayed as part of the process.

Anything from the Soviets would be in green.

Will dig up some pics.
