Silly title I know. But help me out here fellas. I seem to recall reading a post by a dakkanaught about using 1/100 ( 15mm ) scale giant robots in games of Flames of war. It was a neat post, he used old robotech models. My point is...does anyone remember this post or the author? I would like to know if he came up with any rules for these giant robots.
Also-- anyone ever come up with rules for giant beasts?
I know it's a little bit of a stretch posting on this page, but the scale fits and flames of war is a great game and the community is pretty open minded.

Adrift within the vortex of my imagination.

You dont need to find rules, you only need to find profiles you can use or make your own.

Are you looking for something similar to Dust? Or Battletech?

If you want your mechs to resemble walking tanks then use FoW profiles and give your walkers the ability to move like infantry so long as they do not enter buildings. Bogged down tests would be taken only in extraordinary circumstances.

If you want your mechs to function like those from Battltech do similar but add jump movement where appropriate, and give your mechs hull points.

In either case mecha should be immune to bails. A bail result causes the loss of one hit point, a kill result the loss of two. Give lighter mecha three hull points, heavy units up to five or six.

The stats for the cannon ray guns and missile systems will be easy enough to implement.

It should be easy for you to create your own system for mecha within the Flames of War ruleset. It will also be more relevant as you can tailor capabilities to fit the models you want to use.

n'oublie jamais - It appears I now have to highlight this again.

It is by tea alone I set my mind in motion. By the juice of the brew my thoughts aquire speed, my mind becomes strained, the strain becomes a warning. It is by tea alone I set my mind in motion.

Somewhat similar, I have a collection of Star Wars viper droids I'm working on to use as counts as Panthers for FoW.
They were $2-$3 a pop.

I didn't want to learn a new system or buy the very nice (but what would rarely get used) walkers from All Quiet on the Martian Front.
