G'day all,
Just wondering, what decal options are there for 15mm models? Specifically I'm looking for Guards Armoured Division but I guess it might be useful for other people as well if we had a list of people who make 15mm scale decals.
I bought a set of the Battlefront British late war decals, however I've been rather disappointed that (for Shermans at least) they seem far too large. If I try and put the decals where they're supposed to go, they just don't fit well, the division insignia and the regiment number (that should go in the upper corners of the lower glacis plate as far as I can see?) both are too large to fit in that spot. The allied stars that typically go on the engine cover or the top of the turret also seem excessively large to me.
I was thinking of trying Plastic Soldier Company's decals, but there's only 1 place I know of that sells them and last time they took 3 weeks to get here so I thought I'd ask if anyone has experience with them or any other decals for 15mm models before I order them and get disappointed again!
I'm also looking for German Kursk-era decals, though I haven't researched as much about those ones yet to know what I need.

Do you know if they'll fit well on Shermans?
It does seem like Dom's Decals have a really long turn around, people on the interwebs talking about waiting 1 to 2 months to get them, that's a long time given I wanted to have these models finished and playing games by now

Battlefront also do decals. I bought a set of decals for my US Armor company, it contained everything I needed, from stars to serial numbers to divisional insignia, to mottos and tank names.
Recommended.

Yeah, the Battlefront ones are what I'm currently using but finding too large. Anyone tried the PSC ones on British Shermans?

I haven't tried them but I have them. Want me to take a photo of the sheet next to a sherman so you can judge the size?

If you could that would by awesome, or even if you could just measure the symbols. The ones pictured below are the most relevant. The Battlefront decals regiment number (the 51, 52, 53) and the Guards Division insignia (the blue shield) is about 3mm by 3mm. This is about 1mm too large to fit where they should go on the lower glacis plate. I don't mind if they're not perfectly sized, at this scale you barely notice... they just need to be small enough to physically fit in that general area, I'm guessing as long it's is closer to 2mm than 3mm it should fit fine. I have both, but probably the PSC ones because the PSC ones have better defined lines to get an idea of sizes, thanks!

Hope this helps. Left is psc tank without tracks and on the right is the open fire Sherman.
Looks like it should fit on both fine.

Thanks! It does look really close, I opened the image in GIMP and copy/pasted the decals where they should go and it looks very tight still. The problem I had with the BF ones is the decal is too big to fit in the flat area so where it bulges out around the drive sprocket it causes the decal to lift, which doesn't look ideal and often gets an air bubble under the decal because of the complex 3D curve.
