My buddy (who plays tomb kings) and I are going to enter a tournament next month together and play Undead Legions!

Here's the list that I came up with. You can tell I'm excited about getting a shooting phase!

Vampire Lord: 524
Heavy Armour + Shield + Hellsteed + lvl 3 Lore of Undeath
Red Fury + Quick Blood + Beguile
Ogre Blade + Talisman of Preservation + The Other Trickster's Shard

Liche High Priest: 235
lvl 4 Lore of Nehekhara + Dispel Scroll

Tomb Prince: 104
Great Weapon

Tomb Prince: 104
Great Weapon

2x 5 dire wolves: 80

2x 38 Skeleton Archers: 456

10 Skeleton Horsemen: 120

3 Necropolis Knights: 195

3 Vargheists: 138

Casket of Souls: 135

2x Screaming Skull Catapult: 180

Terrorgheist: 225

The list is a 'come and get me' type list where I intend to pound the other army with shooting. In the magic phase I hope to draw out dispel dice by summoning units in annoying places and then casting a multiple shots bubble (affecting both catapults and both archer units). If I can get that bubble off I should be able to do a devastating amount of damage (up to 152 bow shots at bs3 + 4 stone thrower shots). Otherwise I should still have enough shooting for my to soften up enemy hammer/death star units for my own hammer units (vampire, vargheists and necropolis knights) to gang up on. I fully intend to keep the vampire and his cavalry unit back and charge the vampire out on his own. The skeletons are just LOS wounds.

What do you think? Should I drop the terrorgheist to beef up my hammer units?

Your hammers are all a little anemic. Necroknights and vargheists should be bumped up to 4. I'm not convinced that the two princes add much to your list either.

10 horsemen is also a really small bunker, especially without light armour. I've found that people can chew through it in a turn no problem and put cannonballs right through my vampire.

I'd consider dropping the two skullapults to make up room for some more hitty elements. 4-5 knights, 4 or 6 vargheists, level 4 on the VL. If you have access to one a hierotitan would be cool.

I'd also say beef one of those units of archers up to 50 models, and drop the other one for a unit of chariots to run with your hammers. Without ways to decrease a target's T I really haven't been impressed with big units of archers.

a few things. Smiting doesn't affect the skullapults. sadly.

The summoning range on undeath is pretty bad, but you can keep creating chaff as needed. Since you can get 3 varghiests on your sig spell, maybe add more snakes and horsement.

The princes are good, but I think I like one large unit of archers with a prince say 50ish and small 10 man drops otherwise.

And I agree on the titan. NEhek and undeath don't have a lot of reach on turn 1-2 maybe 3 if you are being defensive, so having shems would be a bonus.

3000
4000 Deamons - Mainly a fantasy army now.

I've run it before and wasn't super impressed. Doesn't have the teeth to really punch through much of anything, and you really need a reliable way to reduce your opponent's T to make effective use of big archer bricks.

If you want to do this then go for a gunline approach with a VL on shadow/death, a LHP or second vampire on death/nehekhara, two upgraded skullapults, a pair of caskets, and some big bricks of crypt horrors/some such. Maybe even a pair of mortis engines for once the enemy hits your lines.

In a list like this though they're just not super useful, and you're better off trading those princes for another unit of vargheists or something, and the archers for basic HW/S skeletons just as tarpits and steadfast breakers.
