Hey everyone.

I have been having some fun conjuring up a few "combo" lists with my Dark Angels plus another Space Marine Chapter. This list is a Lion and the Wolf, well more accurately Raven and the Wolf, list utilizing hard-hitting Space Wolves and fast, shooty, Dark Angels. This list seems particularly cool to me because my best friend and I have always wanted to run a DA + SW combo list but they have always been a bit... unfriendly towards one another. Now that they are Battle Bros I get the chance to make an army we both can play and enjoy / swap models (once we buy them all). I want the list to be good but also have some cool theme stuff. I just really like the idea of Ravenwing, guns ablaze, scouting and charging ahead with a pack of thunderwolves. I think the fast shooty elements of DA work really well with the fast melee focused Space Wolves. The imagery is really cool and perfectly explains the two chapters working together to form something terrifying. The power of friiiiieeeeenshiiiippppp. *High five*.

Libby goes in RW Command squad to give them 4++ invul. They stick near the Land Raider Crusader and RW squads to give lots of Dakka. Hopefully the PFG covers the LRC to give it 4++ too. Thunderwolves hang nearby and work with the fire support of the RW and LRC until they can get into combat. Azrael, WG Battle Leader and Blood Claws ride in the LRC and go murder whatever needs killing. Azrael Furious Charge + Blood Claws' Rage means 40 attacks str 5 attacks on the charge. Yes they are WS3 but I think the number of attacks will make up for it. Plus Azrael and WG battle leader can help out too. Azrael gives them 4++ which is amazing.

I have contemplated switching the blood claws for Grey Hunters but I know I will get fewer of them :/ Also, swapping the Wolf Guard Battle Leader out for a Rune Priest to give me extra psychic fun times. Thoughts?

Do SW have a chaplian? If so use that instead for the reroll to hit on charge.

Looks to be fast and aggressive. I'd say leave the Land Raider behind and run everything up the table, get all up in your opponents face. The Wolf Claws will be a good harassment unit when backed up by so many bikes.

Not a bad idea. I think they are called Wolf Priests? Not sure if I have the points though. The battle leader is somewhere around 100 points with these upgrades. I think the Wolf Priests start around there with no gear whatsoever. I could look in to getting a Rune Priest for psychic buffs instead.

The Land Raider crusader benefits from the banner of devastation. It's 24 twin linked bolter shots, 4 twin linked assault cannon, and a multi-melta. POTMS can make me split fire too if needed. It's a butt ton of attacks. Possibly rending if I get the right divination powers on bike librarian. I like it in the list. But I may swap it out for more bikes!

Seriously, interesting idea, but you have to appeal to the old rule. DA and SW each have to nominate one tac marine to duke it out (before or after the match) to recreate the old Lion vs. Russ match.

Haha, well, Space Wolves are almost always guaranteed a win nowadays. DA tacticals are garbage. And seeing as how I have no tacticals in this list it may be a problem. BUT I can always proxy someone haha.

A) it's more in the spirit than actually having a winner and B) your SW can go die

Doesn't have to be a tactical. It can by anyone.

True, I'm just thinking Tacticals would be the most fair. Chapter Masters can take a lot of BS

As long as i don't have a Dark Angels "champion" fight at all I think I will be OK. Blade of Caliban is hands down the worst power weapon ever. Why a champion is "honored" with it as a downgrade i will never know.

I could always have a mock battle back at camp with Deathwing and Wolf Guard if we really want the fur to fly.

Do it I'm actually sad they took that rule out. It used to be an Alliance rule for SW and DA

The Blade of Caliban is pants. The DW champion on the other hand is pretty tasty with the Halberd of Caliban.

Oh for sure. Blade of Caliban is the worst power weapon in the game. Halberd of Caliban is probably the best, short of relic/named weapons. Weirdness going on in the Rock's forges apparently.
