Just been reading the White Dwarf Harlequins articles and noticed this:
"as the Time of Ending approaches, .... "
Does this mean we will see a Time of Ending revision to the 40k universal rules?
Sorry if this has been mentioned elsewhere.

Considering the 40k clock is stopped at the proverbial '2 minutes to midnight', at a point where everyone apart from Nids is facing some kind of cataclysm, the Time of Ending is probaly the Eldar way of saying the point we're currently at, where everything is going very badly wrong...

I believe this has been in the fluff for ages. There was a group of mixed alien races that told this story to the Primarch Alpharius i believe. Either choose victory for the Emperor and the imperium will Stagnate. Or let Horus win and the Imperium shall thrive for another 10.000 years before it falls tho chaos.. I believe that was the beginning of the time of endings. It is probably just phase in the sotryline that we are in right now. The Eldar struggle to survive, The Imperium is surrounded on al sides slowly losing terretory. The Nids are only just now getting serious. The Orks have more successfull waaghs after the other. The Tau, though still smal have proven themselves worthy enemies. And then not even half the Tomb Worlds of the Necrons have awakend. So yeah... i believe it has already started

40k has been in the end times for almost 30 years. The only surprise is that it took them so long to do the same thing with fantasy.

I would say not at this exact moment.

Given that they are in full swing of the WHFB: End Time and the future change it will bring, I doubt we would see this happen anytime soon.

I also think GW will probably look to WHFB to see how it all goes before they up and change 40k.

I'm back!

Interesting... I had heard that since whf's end time era has boosted sales and done so well that they were going to start it for 40k this year after their last release for fantasy's end time.

I also heard that they were going to be releasing super powered tau suits, ecrons, and hailing the return of some primaries (first is supposed to be Guilliman).

Could be an interesting and expensive year. I hope they dont do limited releases like they did with fantasy as there are far more 40k players around here.

40k's already at the time of ending in the setting. Every codex has some blurb about it, whether it's the Blood Angels being called back to Baal to defend it, Abaddon finally getting his act together, a massive WAAAGH! approaching, or what have you. Don't read into it.

The stuff about Guilliman coming back and stuff was confirmed by Graham McNeill to be a hoax.

I think to be more specific.

"Time of Ending" has been a relatively new phrase. - I think it, or a phrase very similar to it, first came up in the fluff for the current Chaos codex.

However, as people have said,it's been a concept in 40k for well, forever.

I suppose 'Rhana Dandra' is seen as too complex a phrase for GW's target audience now.
