Possessed Khorne Marine Covered in Spikes

Guys? Why does no one ever take Huron? His lore is awesome stats are pretty good and is a psyker? New power every turn? Yes please!

People do take Huron. Especially with armies that you want to get into close combat by turn 1 or 2.

My only problem with him were that there were so dang many rules to remember that I usually forgot to use during the game. It took me like 4 games before I finally found out that the pokemon also counts as a combat familiar, for example.

Also, questions you're asking like this will get a lot more hits if you post them in the 40k tactics forum, where they belong.

Huron isn't THAT hard to use. He simply lacks the mobility and the matter of not being aligned with Nurgle.

Funny you mention this. I just used him for the first time in a game. HE WORKED GREAT!!! I was able to infiltrate 2 units of 35 cultists, and get into CC by round 1 with one of the units and round 2 with the other. Best part of this is that the other guy was playing neuron. So much for shoot space robots!! MWAHAHAHAHA

How are you charging with a unit that has infiltrated?

Yeah I'm sure he really cared about his Warriors being charged by Cultists...

When it's 40 khorne berzerkers and a squad of 10 MoK terminators that's getting a free move up the board with infiltration on the other hand...

And you can get into CC turn 1 if your opponent is silly enough to move towards you. Remember that the prohibition is against the first player turn, not the first game turn.

As for huron's many, many special rules and wargear, There really is a lot to remember. After all, you've got...

May infiltrate at beginning of game
Krak grenades
Frag grenades
power axe
super lightning claw
armorbane
heavy flamer
combat familiar
4++
must challenge
roll mutations
psyker
fearless
veteran of the long war
random psychic power every turn
casting psychic powers

Some of those things are easier to remember than others, of course, but there were several times I forgot to roll new powers at the beginning of the turn, or forgot to cast one that I had. I definitely forgot about the combat familiar thing for awhile, and I've forgotten that he has D3 hits on overwatch with his flamer, and that he gave a bonus to deny the witch rolls.

It got to the point where I had to spent the beginning of each turn just looking at that list to remind me what my HQ could do.

7th revised it to first game turn I believe?

EDIT

Well, sort of, it specifies that a unit deploying via infiltrate cannot charge in their first turn, which amounts to the same thing.

It did, a unit that has infiltrated cannot charge on its first turn.

I used Huron in my Chaos army (I use the Forgeworld model, as it looks so much better). First time I used him back in 6th Edition, the turn I charged in I got the +d3 attacks psychic power, and it was glorious.

However, with Huron, you are more or less guaranteed to always get the +1 BS result on the Chaos gifts table, which is just perfect for his flamer.

None of that is really hard to remember though. I honestly fail to see the issue except for the random Psyker power, but someone created a generator for that somewhere online.

He charged me. I didn't bring any armour so he charged me with scarabs and i charged round 2.

I like Huron and I used to use him quite a bit when I was a more active 40k player.

Keep him away from missiles, he is guaranteed to die to the first S8 that comes his way.
