I've got a new 2500 list I'm working on and while I know I have a few sub-optimal choices I'd like to hear everyone's opinions.

My concerns are with your characters and standards. Here we go!

CHAOS LORD: Palanquin is a mount, isn't it? So this guy's save is currently 0+, making the dragonhelm just a fire ward. Normally I would say swap it to a dragonbane gem ... except you should really be taking a dawnstone Easily paid for by dropping the d.helm and the vanguards on the warhounds.

CHAOS SORCERER: What lore are you using? And any chance you could get the ruby ring somewhere in the army? On this guy or elsewise. Two spells doesn't make for a very ferocious casting phase, and a magic missile will also add to whatever lore you choose (Death and Nurgle not being high in MM).

STANDARDS: Where are your characters going? Lord in the flaming warriors (6-wide), BSB in the fast warriors (7-wide)? I would really recommend not lighting one of your two kill units on fire, especially if it means your lord's S7 great weapon is flaming too. Flaming wards are a real pisser, and you will absolutely run into combat characters running them to screw over setups just like yours. And anyway, you have the flaming BSB ready to pop a wound in before his buddies wreck regenerating house - it's also easier to hop a single model around and catch regen bastards than it is maneuver an entire unit of warriors against that one target (that absolutely knows the warriors want to fight them). Instead, I would swap the banner of eternal flame for the standard of discipline from the knights. This kicks your lord up to LD 10 (and hence everyone within 12"), which is more useful than giving the knights LD 9 (which they'd have within 12" of the lord anyway).

I second Boss Salvage's concerns. In addition:

I believe a palaquin means your lord gets no look out sir, and thus will die to the first (non-flaming) cannon he sees. Poison attacks enjoy rerolls to hit, you might consider the ASF granting sword or helm.

With only a single lvl 2 at 2500 points, you are going to have a rough time in enemy magic phases, unless your meta is similarly light on magic.

Also festus...because he should never be left out of a nurgle themed list and he is a bawss

I second all this, Kooshlord and BAN's comments

Always a fan of the razor standard in a unit or on BSB. With warriors that is a -2 to armour off the bat. I run a unit of 30 Warriors with BSB to this effect and it makes people wince.

I wouldn't like it, too much risk of my Bsb declaring a challenge and getting his face beaten up. Chosen can take a 50pt banner though.

Seeing as how most of the issues are with my characters I did a little bit of editing.

I stuck a ruby ring on him to give my Magic phase a little more oomph like suggested

He's basically stayed the same I just swapped out the luck stone with an Ironcurse to give his unit a little extra protection from war machines

I also dropped the vanguard on the warhounds and swapped the flame banner for the discipline banner

Ok, you've got an awesome palanquin model. think about charmed shield, 4+ ward, or anti fire ward if your meta features flaming cannons. Too much stuff bypasses armor these days.

Bsb gets Los, give him the re rollable armor.
