Has anyone else seen theese kits yet? They are a pre release and are using the Open fire code. but on the kewl side you get 2 plastics for the price of one resin.
Maybe a precursor for a new box set? Looks like a MArch release date.

The 'two plastics for the price of one resin' is $1.50 less than you would pay if you could purchase just two plastic vehicles from the existing plastic kits. As for the 'Open Fire' set, I'd venture to say it will have the same contents as before, just with the new Sherman and StuG plastics.

Whoa, I didn't realize they were releasing so many 2 tank plastic sets, the SU set is a surprise to me! I'm glad they're finally putting out the 2x box sets, it'll be nice to finally have the option to have two maxed out platoons without having to buy another box for command teams. Only question I have is why the 2x box of 251s is less than half the cost of the 4x box of 251s. Guessing that the 4x box will have some nice extras? One more, when oh when will someone finally make plastic White scout cars?!
Casual wargamer, casual painter, casual grad student. I can do formal though, I do own a tuxedo T-shirt.
It's not just the 251s; it looks like buying 3 of the boxes will be the same price as the platoon box but net you an extra vehicle for your trouble as Ghaz pointed out. I'm guessing the 2-tank boxes are either missing something like decals/magnets or they're a limited-time offering with the "re-launch" of Open Fire. Could be both, but based on what we can see those boxes do seem very odd, though I appreciate the idea of being able to snag an HQ section for an armored company or bulk out a platoon more easily. Most people I know would take the extra vehicle over the gubbins since you can get those in bulk from other suppliers.

This, a thousand times. They were the most desired plastic kit when I made that poll thread a while back.
Interesting move Hopefully they'll expand this two tank range. They'll be priced well against the other plastic manufacturers, especially if they come with decals and magnets. Of course they'll have to actually supply the stuff to retailers which is the biggest bugbear with me at the moment.
Aren't the magnets needed to make the turreted vehicles? Hopefully M113s will get a similar re-box.

Most armies can do that with the existing boxes. I know the Brits can since their platoons max out at four tanks.

I believe most of the newer plastic kits (such as the Sherman V) don't come with magnets. The kits are designed with a turret peg instead. The peg however can be left out if you wish to use magnets instead.
Now if we can get some plastic 25 pdrs from somebody...

If my maths is right (I haven't checked) they're the same price as PSCs offerings. I'd be surprised if BF attempted to undercut their competition on price.

For the Sherman V kit, PSC comes out to approximately $5.80 a model ($28.99 for five). The Battlefront 'Open Fire' kit come out to $7.50 a model ($15 for two).

I can't find anything else that has the same price code ($15.00) in the current range to find a comparison for a British price. PSC's tanks are £3.90 each (in a box of 5 for £19.50). I expect the new boxes to be around £9 to 9.50 each making them £4.50+ each (in a box of two).
The resin Panthers are $14.50 US. The same models are £9 on the UK site. The Italian L3/35 is $30 US and is £17.50 on the UK site.

Look like the mini rulebook is out of the box. I'm ambivalent on this, since we're not talking GW prices here (its only $10 US for the mini rulebook).

After it gets released i might try and pick up some cheap Shermans off ebay from people who dont want them. It seems like a nice idea to acquire a few more tanks.

Any idea when these will drop? I preordered 3 of the T-34 ones to flesh out my last unit and I thought they were a March release, but haven't heard diddly.
