Haven't seen one of these threads in a bit, so I thought I'd start a new one.

Post any time that you(or someone else) have rolled insanely, good or bad. I want to hear tales of the Dice God favor, and wrath!

I'll start.

In a game of Guard vs Blood Angels, my opponent's 5-man Sanguinary guard charged a veteran squad of mine. I fired 19 overwatch shots, and got 5 hits

. Needless to say, my opponent was grim since I'd been rolling quite well this game.

I tried reassuring him with the fact that lasguns still hurt on fives, he goes and says. "You're going to roll five 5's." Lo and behold, I do! His sanguinary guard then fail three

out of the five 2+ armor saves. We were stunned.

So, Ten guardsmen killed three sanguinary guard with lasguns(the meltas missed) in overwatch.

Once upon a time, back in the old days, an assault cannon would jam if you rolled 3 ones to hit (only 3 shots back then).

Some guy was about to shoot me with two assault cannon, but was going to roll them all together, but before he rolled I called him on it, saying he should roll them separately so you know if one jams.

So he rolls. 3 1's, it jams.

Happy days.

When I took my DA Land Raiders, before they FAQ'ed the damn PFG, I use to roll 4+ Invulns like nobodies business.

One game at a tournament, my Knight Errant tossed his Melta cannon at my opponents Land Raider, which was behind 4+ cover. I had no better targets because it was turn 1.

I hit, penetrated, he failed his 4+ cover save, and I rolled a 6 to make it explode.

Another time, a full squad of Fire Dragons unloaded from a Wave Serpent right in front of a squad of GKTs with my grand master in it. I was sure I was going to lose all my Terminators. All his shots hit, all of them wounded... And then I passed all eight 5+ invuln saves. Eldrad crapped his pants right before my Grandmaster stuck his halberd through his face.

The maddest I've seen was actually against me. My SM Captain with Armour Indomitus, Teeth of Terra and Primarch's wrath is going after an IG Infantry squad, split off from his own Command Squad. I pop the 2++ for protection, just to be sure he'll get into CC, and then open fire. 5 dice from PW, 5 kills, the squad is now down to 2 men, and needs a 1,1 on the Ld test to not run (off the board edge).

Snake eyes.

So they're still there. No matter, chaaarge! I make the distance easily enough, and he rolls overwatch. 1 lasgun, misses both shots. 1 meltagun.

6 to hit, hits...2 to wound, wound.

2+ Invulnerable save....

1...

200+ points of Ultramar's finest, taken out by a 15 point meltagun with no squad left on overwatch. I ended up winning the game about 14-3, so I can't complain, but damn, that Assault Phase hurt...

I did once manage to get a pair of Tau battle suits to kill a flying hive tyrant with only a single round of overwatch fire from their 2 fusion blasters and 2 plasma rifles

6 overwatch shots, 4 wounds

My whole army was on fire that day, except the one unpainted unit

My sparring with my friend (6th Ed.):

I wanted to get rid of his land raider, but didn't have anything in range... unless I moved with my Disco-Pred (3x lascannons), so I began to play Rich & Poor:

I move 6", and expose my Pred to his every hard hitting unit.
Shooting phase.

I fire twin-linked lascannon at full BS - miss, even after twin-link.

Right side sponson (snapshoot), miss.

Left side sponson (snapshoot), A HIT!

Rolling for pen against LR... *rolls* 6! A PEN!
What's the LR's fate? *rolls* 6! BOOM!

The mate's expression was priceless.

Those were my only consecutive sixes of the year. The rest of the year was rolling ones and twos...

Just yesterday, two players per side game. My Sisters and a Necron newbie vs a regular opponent's Chaos and a 'nid newbie.

His Chaos Lord (power fist, lightning claw, sigil of corruption) and a unit of nine Possessed of Tzeentch assault my Dominions (8 sisters + 2 priests).

Dominions then manage to pass every single save against the Chaos models, even the ones that have to be taken on their 6++. For three consecutive turns. In return, they manage to kill all but two of the Possessed and put two wounds on the Chaos Lord.

:( then we had to call the game.

For 40K, how about ten Guardsmen dealing two wounds to an Avatar in close combat and not suffering any in return?

5 Chaos Terminators (my friend's) came running towards my backfield, all I had in range was 5 Tactical Marines. I thought "feth it, let's go!" 5 bolter shots from them into the terminators, 5 hits (all five were 6s), 4 wounds (again, all 6s). I'm happy, *maybe* one will die, right?
Nope.
He rolled four 1s with his 2+ save.
I think that's the best I've ever done with barebones tacticals.

In a game of kill team yesterday I saw three 6's rolled in a row for saves. One was a CSM against an autocannon, 2 were Cultists against lasguns.

11th Company GT this past November, was my first real tournament (read: not with friends in a garage). I drove 7 hours by myself to get there, brought a pretty hodgepodge, but fully painted, Tyranid list (bugs 4 ever), and had more fun playing 40k than I'd ever had previously.

Anyway, Day 2. Last game, game 6. I'd picked up what was to be my only win against a REALLY nice Blood Angel player, so I was already satisfied with my tournament performance, and just enjoying the last few rounds. I'm up against a newer player running an ork list with ghaz and every ork boy ever made. My Swarmlord is in close combat with a big pile of ork, tanking hits and chewing through boys like the boss he is, but is down to 2 wounds.

Bottom of the initiative, his powerklaws swing. 8 hits, 8 wounds. Thank the hive mind for invuln saves. 8 fails. The ork player is respectfully exited that he's finally brought the beat low, but wait, Ol' Swarmy has catalyst for a 5+ fnp. 5, 6, 5, 5, 6, 5, 6, 5.

Swarmlord bit it next turn, but the ork player loved that moment so much, he gave me a warboss jaw to put on his base after the game.

A couple of weeks ago I was playing a game with my DKoK against Tyranids.

At this climatic moment in the battle a Flyrant had come down in order to rip open my Hellhound. A decimated squad of three Death Riders eyed the monster and fired their pistols. By some sort of miracle I scored two wounds (4's followed by 6's) and the Flyrant failed a saving throw. Down to three wounds I knew it was time for some insane heroism. The three riders spurred on their mounts and charged the Flyrant. In a flury of overwatch, two of the brave lads died, but the sergeant arrived at his target and his lance found its target.
Four attacks to kill a massive monster with three wounds remaining. The Death rider sergeant managed to hit with all attacks (4's) and wound with three of them (5's). At the same time he was ripped apart by the Flyrant since both of them struck at Ini 5. But it was a moment of pure glory when that massive monster came down because of a single Deathrider.

The guy now wears a big shiny medal, something I do to all my models who perform a dead of extraordinary prowess

Well, my very first game with Dark Eldar I got crushed. Tabled turn 2, killed 4 Tacticals. Yeah, it was bad.

My second game, I made 11 jink saves in a row before failing any. Life was great.

Hah, I think my friend got all of you beat. 50 saves in a row on Obliterators. 40 2+ and 10 5+. A statistical nightmare. I wasted a whole army's worth of shooting into a unit only to do jack squat and I was playing Necrons.

I shoot. Nothing. Meh, just tac Termies. I'll charge next round.

They shoot. Kill three with their 5 shots.

I shoot again. Nothing.
Charge.
Lose 2 to overwatch.

Painful.

Assaulted with 15 death company and a reclusiarch into a marine captain with minimal gear and like 3 tac marines, with the 5e BA book so the rec gave reroll to hit and wound for the DC.
Quickly got down to the captain that passed 35ish armor saves, then about 8 of 12 invulns before falling to one of the fists.

That same captain the game before... I ran counts as iron hands, and had a stormraven, 3 assault cannon dreadnoughts, and 3 terminators all ganging up on that captain. His squad died, then he saved a ton, failed his morale, fell back, joined another squad in the back field, my forces obliterated his squad again and couldn't stick any wounds on him, then I assaulted with all 3 dreads, and it wasn't until the next round of combat that one managed to land a KO with an instadeath hit.

BA(me) vs Nids

First time using Mephiston and drop pods vs 5 lichtors, deathleaper, 2 winged hive tyrants etc....

I'm up on VPs but am getting tabled. My last melee units die and all I have left in combat is Mephiston vs Winged Hive Tyrant. Both down to 1 wound each.
I get off Force on his epic sword, and quickening(+2 increase). I also get the transfixing gaze bonus.

He charges in with 3 warriors who are down two 1 would each from the preceding combat. So its Mephiston vs WHT(shooty kitted) and 3 warriors kitted with various CC weapons.

I go first with the initiative bonus and kill them all with 6 attacks, hitting on 2+ wounding on 2+ with instakill

I lost the game but that was awesome!

I had an opponent Decent of Angels on top of my Grey Knights (4th Ed), with Dante scattering on top of a Halberd wielding Power Armored Grey Knight, rolled mishap and hit removed. Couldn't stop laughing for the rest of the game.

Had a Sister Canoness shoot a Terminator Sgt in the head with a Bolt Pistol. Taught him a lesson!

Have never once, in decades of playing, hit anything with an a Orbital Bombardment. Not. One. Thing.

Playing as orks against dark angels, a couple boyz squads were in a fight with terminators. The game was almost over and most of the dark angels were dead, so I just skipped the boyz and did the nob's power klaw attacks. I had 2, one from each squad, one had charged and one had not, so 7 klaw attacks v. like 3 non-SS terminators.

I rolled my attacks as he was putting up, and my to hit roll was 7 1s, all at once. It was pretty shocking.

I still won, but that was a pretty shocking display of incompetence from my nobz.

In a recent game, I had 4 Wrack squads with Ossefactors.

Virtually every single to-hit roll with said Ossefactors was a '2'.

After a few turns of this, it became something of a running joke for the other players.

My terminators charge a squad of three 3 suits with 2 shield drones. The sergeant rolls two hits with his sword, two wounds.... the shield drones survive both. His suits attack, 4 hits, 3 wounds.... two failed saves.

I lose the sergeant and a TH/SS termie. The remaining three swing their fists , 7 hits, 7 wounds. The shield drones made all but one save.

In the end I managed to kill all but 1 suit (it fled the combat and got shot down by a tac squad immediately. However, I had spent 3 turns fighting them, and had lost all but 1 guy from the squad.

As for the best I've ever had, a single unit of DW knights that had a really bad DS, had to walk 3 turns to get into combat. Survived three rounds of shooting from Tau, only losing 1 of the 5. We're talking a riptide, ~20 fire warriors, 3 missilesides, and some stealth suits. He was so focused on killing that one squad that I literally was holding all the objectives when the game ended.

Had 3 Hydras splatter a full squad of FNP Hammernators in one round of shooting. 5th edition game...totally hilarious and crazy. Sanguinary priest in the unit survived til the end of the game though!

Sidenote in Warhammer Fantasy:
My opponent shot my Gor-Rok model, with a Dark Elf Bolt thrower and hit, wounded, multiple wounded, I failed LOS, and I failed my 2+ save against instant death. It was his first shot of the game, and I'd already lost my most resilient model on a shot that had a .6 percent chance of killing him outright. It was painful.

In 40k, my Ork Big Mek was shooting at a Sternguard veteran squad with his SAG. He rolled double 2s, so my opponent places the blast on my nearby bikers. They were like 6 inches away from the guys I originally targeted, and I rolled like 9 inches for scatter and it hit the guys I was originally targeting, killing like 2. It was a really funny moment.

Before I knew the rules well, I was playing with Asaault on Black Reach. My brother charged Nobz into my terminators and barely won the combat. I rolled double 6's for leadership, and double 1's for running away. It was a bad moment and my whole squad was destroyed. (You didn't need the codex to play them so I didn't know ATSKNF). It was really quite epic and we still talk about it.

I'm a newbie and have only played one game, but I was stunned when in my first ever shooting phase my 5 scout snipers took out two grey knight terminators.

One of the crazy ones from my area was a GK playing taking like 40 wounds on terminators and instead of rolling a few at a time grabbed the 40 and rolled all at the same time. not a single 1.

I did a similar thing with about 15 dice on Power armor.

My most insane moment had to be when I deep struck my 5 man unit of GK terminators in next to a 10 man squad of guardsman. I shoot kill 4 of them and they pass there leadership test. His turn they all shoot get 4 hits, 4 wounds and I roll 4

for my saves. My turn the last terminator wipes the rest of the squad.

One of the best I had was when a Commissar Lord (on 2 wounds) and a single guardsman were in combat with a Chaos Biker Lord and accompanying Biker Squad. The Commissar Lord accepted the Chaos Lord's challenge... and proceeded to make all but one invulnerable save, surviving on one wound. The other bikers mashed the lone guardsman and piled about 8 wounds on the Commissar Lord... who proceeded to make every single save. He then put a wound on the Chaos Lord with his power fist.

Good times.

Just recently i had 52 Ard Boyz with FnP (4 powerklaws), 10 Tankbustas, assault a single DW Land Raider Redeemer with PFG. They only inflicted two glances. Bottom of that turn that redeemer and a nearby second one mops and routes all the orkz.
