Plan is to leave the dreads ibn the DP first turn and let them flame something and charge out turn 2 while everything else moves up. Debating on whether or not Moloc and the terminators are really worth the points. I have some fantastic converted Spartan terminators I made which is why they are in the list. Any CC is welcome!

You might as well skimp on the Tactical Squads and just use Scouts. They benefit more anyway.

Another thing to note is that, since Asterion is your Warlord, he's gonna want to challenge. Therefore, you don't need the challenge catcher Sergeant in the Terminator squad; go ahead and go for another hammer.

If you want the Terminators, you'll need a Spartan to transport them. Easily done with those saved points on Scouts, and removing Dreads as needed.

Asterion is always worth the points. He can tear up most other HQs in challenges.

"Because the Wolves kill cleanly, and we do not. They also kill quickly, and we have never done that, either. They fight, they win, and they stalk back to their ships with their tails held high. If they were ever ordered to destroy another Legion, they would do it by hurling warrior against warrior, seeking to grind their enemies down with the admirable delusions of the 'noble savage'. If we were ever ordered to assault another Legion, we would virus bomb their recruitment worlds; slaughter their serfs and slaves; poison their gene-seed repositories and spend the next dozen decades watching them die slow, humiliating deaths. Night after night, raid after raid, we'd overwhelm stragglers from their fleets and bleach their skulls to hang from our armour, until none remained. But that isn't the quick execution the Emperor needs, is it? The Wolves go for the throat. We go for the eyes. Then the tongue. Then the hands. Then the feet. Then we skin the crippled remains, and offer it up as an example to any still bearing witness. The Wolves were warriors before they became soldiers. We were murderers first, last, and always!" —Jago Sevatarion

If you are looking at a spartan, why not take a storm eagle roc? Flying, 4hp, tons of high strength shooting.

I've had mixed results with scouts. I may make room for a squad of 5 in a LSS but for now I'm going to try and make it work without them. The spartan is quote a bit of points (and money!) to transport 6 terminators. I've used LR's before and I've honestly not been very impressed with them. They almost never die but also never really do anything either. I may retool the list and drop the vindicators or the storm talons but I honestly don't know what to put in their place.

That's not a bad idea. What would you take out to fit that in? And do you think the drop podding dreadnoughts would still fit well in the list?

There is the tough question. What to take out to fit in a 310-320 point flyer. (depends on if you want the multi-melta or the skyhammer) Thinking of what the minotaurs are known for. Sudden overwhelming berserk attacks. I would drop the two vindicators.

My reasoning is, while a strength 10 large blast seems fantastic, the range means that you will likely be getting outflanked and expose the weaker armor very quickly. The primary target because of the high strength of the weapon seems like it would be tanks, however with the new damage table, it is very difficult to one shot a tank these days. If your using the blast to kill grey knight paladins, that is the niche, but you likely won't earn back the points if your shooting orks.

In replacment, the ROC has four twin linked krak missiles to take out most tanks, and the two lascannons and multi melta can generally take out tougher tanks. Power of the machine spirit means you are still firing at two seperate targets. Mobility is greater then the tanks, and it's harder to hit.

Sadly that still isn't enough to outright purchase the awsome flyer. So next on the chopping block, in my mind, would be one of the storm talons. Cool flyers that they are, again they have durability issues. Damage output is great, but the points have to come from somewhere. Also by dropping the storm talon, with 70 points now to play with. You could either bring in a deimos command vehicle for reserve manipulation. (Also replaces one shot version of the vindicator.) Or you could upgrade one of your dreadnoughts to be hekaton. (This would be tending more towards the fluffy.)

Another option would be turning a marine squad into scouts. Or dropping a dreadnought.

If you switch marines to scouts, you can either hide them better, or alternately put them in the flyer if your termis are dropping in. Scouts can then be dropped off at a nice ruins, (where you placed an objective), giving cover to the flyer in skim mode, and providing you with an objective secured. By the same token a marine squad could come out of the flyer and accomplish the same thing, albiet without stealth.

Dropping a dreadnought might be a more "competitive" option. I always prefer to tailor my lists to my personal playing style. If yours is dropping in with a whole bunch of hardy tanking units that can lay out some good damage. Then stick to that.

A thought about the storm eagle ROC. Much like the spartan it is expensive in points, and $$. With the added bonus that it is quite an intimidating challenge to model and assemble. Expect some warped resin wherever you get it from, and plan on pinning the daylights out of it to achieve stability and smooth form.
