This week we launched three new cases to join the KR card case range alongside the ubiquitous KRM and KRH cases.

The standard card case, the KRM, has been with us since KR began, and the half size case (KRH) joined a few years ago. The 3 new cases added this week provide you with the ideal expansion of the modular transport system that KR provides.

And because the KR System is completely modular these new cases simply interchange within your current Kaiser Transport Bags, Backpacks, K-Lite or Wheeled Aluminium cases.

No need to buy new transport bags, just use your current ones! Storage and transport made simple by KR.

Spot the naming convention for these 3 new cases based on their size :-)

The KRQ is a Quarter size case (1/2 width, 1/2 height version of a standard case) making it ideal for Skirmish and Sports games such as Guild Ball, Blood Bowl and Dreadball, or even for board games with only a few pieces. See the KRQ here http://www.krmulticase.com/product.aspx?id=KRQ&t=case

The KRX is an eXtra height version of the standard case, so you can fit another pair of half width 51mm trays inside, or those extra infantry that you wanted! See the KRX here http://www.krmulticase.com/product.aspx?id=KRX&t=case

The KRD is a Double depth variant of the standard case, with loads of space for your models. Carry those large models with ease using double height trays. See the KRD here http://www.krmulticase.com/product.aspx?id=KRD&t=case

We want all our customers to join in and celebrate KR providing the best & most versatile system for miniature figure storage & transport and so we are giving away FREE cases!

To get a free case, take advantage of this limited offer to “Buy One Get One Free”. Simply buy any of the 3 new card cases (KRD, KRX , KRQ) and you will get an second card case the same size, including trays completely FREE ! The free case will appear at the checkout, just let us know which trays to put in there – choose from any of our range of Core, Custom and even Colour trays.

This offer is also available at participating local (bricks & mortar) Gaming Stores - ask at yours when you are next in.

The launch offer runs until the 17th April.

Full terms and conditions are on the KR homepage http://www.krmulticase.com

Already specced out what I need, I’ll probably place my order through my FLGS when the owner gets back from Adeptecon.

A few questions:

I assume that I’ll be able to fit two of the new KRX boxes into my Kaiser 3? Two one-and-a-half boxes should equal three standard ones, correct?

Can you mix-and-match different colors of foam trays in the same box? For example, I’d like to get some Eldar trays in red, and some Marine trays is the old blue, but have some of each in both boxes.

This is a good reaction to GW putting out a good product. One question, if I go for custom colour inserts in one, does my free one also gain custom colour?

Ask and you shall receive. I haven't been in the market for foam in a while so didn't know they had already made one. Great, thanks!

Nevelon - yes 2 of the KRX will fit in a Kaiser3, the KR modular system always adds up nicely. A KRD and a KRM would fit too for example.

Nevelon - yes you can mix colours, but I suggest to stick with blue in the 1st case, and go colour in the second case - it will save you a few $ more.

The Division of Joy - It takes a few months to design, tool, test and get a case into production, we started on these back in November, it is just a coincidence that GW have some out as well.

Agnosto - yes, all armies are covered, just pick the trays you want from the list for Imperial Knights

My anal retentive nature was getting the best of me that my Deadzone and FoW were in two separate cases. Placed my order the other night for KRD's. Should have added a KRQ as well. Oh well, plenty of time to rectify that error.

Does KR sell any trays that are cut just for decks of cards (unsleeved or sleeved)?

I literally just yesterday bought a double backpack combo. I may have to pick one of these deals up too because I know I will need some more case space eventually!

Sweet. Another question, Does the free case have to have the same trays as the paid one? Or could I order a case with core trays and get 610 trays in the free case or vice versa?

ulgurstasta - The free case can have whatever trays in you want, core, custom, 610 colour. The free case can have different trays to the purchased case, the only thing that stays the same is the case size. Buy a KRD get a KRD free, buy a KRX get a KRX free, buy a KRQ get a KRQ free. See the T&C on the KR Homepage - as ever, the KR launch deals have no catches, we always want everyone worldwide to benefit :-)

MasterSlowPoke - yes use the V1H pick&pluck for a Maulerfiend, though we plan on a custom tray for him by end of April.

While I am in desperate need of some new cases, I still can never understand why foam costs so damn much.

Some questions for whoever can answer them. I have been looking to get cases from you guys for a while and this deal has sealed it (that being said money is tight so I suppose I will be waiting till the very end of the deal to get this one).

Anyway on to the questions:
How sturdy are the cases? Like I get they are cardboard so not invincible but what type of punishment can they take?

Also I play Malifaux and I see you have sets for that. A lot of my crews are oddly shaped and even those on 30mm dont usually fit the normal mold (some levitate/fly ect). What type of layout is recommended? I assume less of the cases that hold the h1/h2 models?

As you say they are not invincible but I have had some KR cases for 6-7 years now and they are as good as new. I'm now on 9 KR cases and contemplating a further 2 now.

Lets face it, they spend 99% of their time on the shelf, card boxes are good at that.

I dropped them a few time with no damage to case or models. The worst I have done with them is taken them on holiday in the car at the bottom of a bootful of luggage, no damage to either case or models.

I've seen videos of them being dropped from moving vans and I'm sure there's people that stand on them to see if they are robust enough which seems good for 2mm of card.

As for Malifaux, no idea mate. I'd call KR and let them know what models you have, they will then tell you the best trays to get.

I'm up to about 40 KR cases these days, and am more than happy with the quality and survivability of them (the oldest is about eight years old, and hasn't fallen apart on me). As they're a nice regular size and shape it makes it easy to stack them up against a wall or line up on shelves.

The F3 tray is good for standard 30mm based models (such as most Warmachine sculpts, or GW new 32mm bases), but with Malifaux's exaggerated poses you might be better off going for the D3 pluck foam trays, and then pluck/cut to suit.

Clockwork Chaos - very sturdy, see the other couple of comments, plus the video of throwing one out of a moving van, with raw eggs in the case and none get broken. The KR principle is that you only need one transport case (eg a Kaiser2) and then just supplement that with economical and interchangeable card cases .
For Malifaux - see the website section on them - http://www.krmulticase.com/buyarmystorage.aspx?system=WYD&army=MFX

Looky Likey - you sure do! - This offer is not limited to 1 per person or household as that would not be in the spirit of a great KR offer, it is simply limited to 1 free case per purchase of any of the 3 qualifying products. See the T&C on the KR Homepage - as ever, the KR launch deals have no catches

idespair - quite a sizeable collection of models! Many customers are telling us the have 50+ and 100+ KR Multicases, it is surprising how large collections get, maybe I should start a FB picture competition on the stacks when I get a chance.

Got into a nasty car wreck going about 40mph with my Kaiser 2 in the back of my car (with of course, 2 of the regular cardboard ones) I had it full of metal and resin flames of war minis. Case must have weighed at least 20 pounds when it slid through my trunk and slammed into the back seat.

Worst damage was a couple of bent barrels where I didn't have models as secure as I thought, and the case slamming sideways caused the barrels to hit the side of the case and bend. A few other models had tracks pop off or other small bits, but overall 80% of the models emerged unscathed, 15% were lightly damaged (a part or two popped off, honestly some of them may have been just crappy gluing on my part) and maybe 5% actually took some real effort to fix. Both card cases are perfectly fine and still usable. I was having to improvise as the 15mm cutouts he sells for FoW can be tricky to get a snug fit given the wide variety of tanks in FoW, but the infantry section worked perfectly.

My only real complaint is the Kaiser 2 does not like the weight of two all metal flames of war cases, and the handle pulls the top flap up worryingly high, but other than that Im very happy with mine. Honestly if I wasn't broke and had a place to stash them I'd put another order in in a heartbeat with this Buy one get one free thing.

Excellent, I will order a pair of the new double height ones when I get paid next week.

Re sturdyness, I've the big 4 case fabric outer layer, that doesn't add much other than a level of rain proofing (and easier carrying that number of boxes), and the 3 and 2 case metal cases. The metal cases are really tough, pricey but worth it if you travel a lot. I've around 20 of the cardboard cases, those are ok if you drop the case but won't stand being stood or sat on by an adult.

Yeah my only complaint about KR products would be the sturdiness of the bags. One of the plastic connection clips that held the carrying strap on my Kaiser broke when I carried it for the first time. Luckily I happened to have another carrying strap with metal clips that I use instead. If I were KR I would use metal clips on the bags.

You should get one of the Backpacks, I have a Double one sturdy as hell in my experience.

Looks good too.

KR is generally excellent and supplies all my case needs. I don't have an immediate use for the new case sizes but it can't hurt to have them as possible options. KR's strength is in the customisation, I've got about 8 cases and I don't think any of them use tray selections I haven't specifically picked out myself for the purpose.

My only complaint has also been about the fabric case straps. The one I got with my Kaiser was far too short even at maximum length (and I'm average build, not overweight). I just used a spare laptop bag strap instead so it was fine, but I thought it a bit weird.

Pretty sure the quarter case should take (1) x2H or (2) x4H (where x is the tray type). Probably have to fill it as a bespoke case as well.

Question:

I can't tell from the pictures, but will the Backpack2 fit 2 KRQ and a KRX?

Looks to me like it might be two separate sides for a single case, but if the internal compartment is open, then I think I could get a KRX plus 2 KRQ's (side by side) in there.
