So I've been thinking of getting a few models done to a really nice standard, Unfortunately being in Australia I rather am limited to what painters I can actually use due to snail-mail rates being pretty bad. So I was wondering if any Australian dakkanaughts could advise me on who they used. I'm think of doing Centerpiece Miniatures. However extremely wary after I got scammed by 2 individuals in my area.

I've done work for Aussies and Kiwis. I think the international postage is expensive, but for high end work it's still only a fraction of the overall cost.

Most of my work is overseas. I would say 80%. Shipping is just a part of it and if you are looking at army sized projects your pool of potential (and reliable) painters is too slim if you stay local. It's worth opening up to the shipping cost.

Also Winter I see your comments in the other thread, thank you.

If you're near south east Queensland I can suggest the guys at Irresistible Force but otherwise I don't really know anyone here that does commissions.

Oh, I certainly vote with my dollar, but the problem is that that is not enough. The problem with the 'vote with your dollar' response is that it doesn't take into account why we're not buying the product. I want to enjoy 40k enough to buy back in. It was my introduction to traditional games, and there was a time when I enjoyed it very much. I want to buy 40k, but Gamesworkshop is doing their very best to push me away, and simply not buying their product won't tell them that.

Look on ozpainters or wargamer.au if you want to stay local.
