In every other book the Maxim machine-gun mounted on the Tachanka has a range of 24" (when not moving) but in this book it has a range of 16"? Why is this, when realistically, they are the same weapon?

According to Easy Army, the only lists in which the Tachanka has 24" range are the digital cavalry lists for Barbarossa. They have 16" in Rising Sun, Eastern Front, and Red Bear.

EDIT: Either the cause is something as simple as a mistake, or it might mark an eventually change, seeing as the aforementioned three books are all 2nd edition, and only Red Bear has received any changes--which were done long before the digital Barbarossa lists.

Mandorallen turned back toward the insolently sneering baron. 'My Lord,' The great knight said distantly, 'I find thy face apelike and thy form misshapen. Thy beard, moreover, is an offence against decency, resembling more closely the scabrous fur which doth decorate the hinder portion of a mongrel dog than a proper adornment for a human face. Is it possibly that thy mother, seized by some wild lechery, did dally at some time past with a randy goat?' - Mimbrate Knight Protector Mandorallen.

In my Eastern Front book it says 24"...

I don't know it just seems weird...

Hmm, according to EA it's 16", but http://www.flamesofwar.com/Portals/0/Documents/Briefings/Mid-war/Mid-War-Arsenals-V3.pdf (which was fairly difficult to dig up, actually) it's 24". I wonder if EF has been reprinted or if EA made an error; when did you buy your book? If it was after the linked pdf went up, it might be a reprint...

I'm not sure, now. Rising Sun appears briefly in the most up to date V3 errata, but there are no amendments to the Tachanka stats. Even the updated Red Bear pdf (http://www.flamesofwar.com/Portals/0/all_images/Design-Notes/RBRevisited/Updating-Red-Bear-2013.pdf) lists them as 16" range, and was done several months after that mid-war arsenal pdf.

At this point, it may just be BF being inconsistent.

The Eastern Front book I have describes it as a typical Maxim HMG when still (24") and a vehicle MG when moving (16"). Because thats a bit confusing, I could understand why they would switch it to 16" all the time to streamline the game. I hope they errata it so they are at least all the same.

I like it better as 24"
