After creeping on many blogs for INQ28/Inqusimunda I have decided to post up some of my work. Most of my inspiration for these guys come from the wonderful blogs my PDH, Lamby, and KrautScientist. At the moment, I only have 1 member from one of my two retinues photographed, and will soon have more than that, so stay tuned.
For my Ordo Hereticus retinue, I have a Forge World Event model of a Navigator

Arclian Dremeth- Imperial Navigator
No-one is quite sure why the enigmatic Navigator known as Dremeth is currently accompanying Inquisitrix Gersav Maldac, but there have been rumors that the Inquisitrix is only on Carroac to hunt a radical Ordo Xenos Inquisitor named Calred Blisev. Records have shown that Dremeth's family was much more powerful, only before a young Ordo Xenos Inquisitor (not named) uncovered that one of the higher ranking Navigators in his household was smuggling Xeno artifacts and as a result the household was punished.
EDIT: GOT THE PICS

Gersav Maldac- Ordo Hereticus Inquisitor
An up and coming star, Maldac is famous already for her fiery zeal. She already uncovered the heretics in a lower level of the Ordo Xenos, and she recently learned of Inquisitor Blisev's consorting with xenos, and has made it her personal mission to bring him in and punish him. NOTE: she is meant to be in power armor (think Sisters power armor) and is made from an eldar guardian and a scion head plus greenstuff.

Greog S. Patonn- Imperial Commissar
A zealous commander, Patonn had been attached to the Catachan 3rd Armored for three years, until his superior had him transferred as a liaison officer for Maldac's investigation of heresy in the 3rd. Afterwards, he was permanently assigned to her retinue, and has been with her almost as long as he was in the 3rd. NOTE: unmodified commissar solo figure.

Wentres Fent- Death World Medic
Fent was a medic in the 3rd Catachan Armored when Maldac conducted her investigation, and was actually accused at one point, but cleared. Later, he assisted in the conflict against the corrupt commander, and actually killed three of the commander's bodyguards in single combat. NOTE: bits from the Catachan command squad

Ren Dee Smogr- Expert Sniper
Smogr was a sniper for an elite unit, but was abandoned on a death world in the face of a tyranid invasion. He survived and became a mercenary, eventually being hired by Maldac to hunt down the traitorous commander of the Catachan 3rd. His was the shot that killed the commander from a kilometer away through the side window of a valkyrie that he was fleeing in. NOTE: more Catachan command box

Urban Dredd- Arbitres sergeant
Dredd has been with Maldac for her entire career, since her first investigation in Hive Primus on Necromunda, investigation a suspicious gang from the Cawdor House. NOTE: Made from a few extra bits attached to the shuttle pilot from Battle for Macragge set

Group Shot

Calred Blisev- Ordo Xenos Inquisitor
A radical Inquisitor, Blisev has his share of enemies in the Ordos. He is on Carroac to find evidence of a Genestealer cult that has infiltrated the highest levels of government. He is a pragmatic man who believes that the ends justify the means. NOTE: Scion bits and Cadian bits

Lurst Fent- Ordo Xenos Interrogator
Fent has been with Blisev for his entire career, training under him to become a full fledged Inqusitor. He is a feverish acolyte of Blisev's teachings. NOTE: Scion and Cadian bits, again

Brother Sergeant Ventar- Deathwatch Marine
Ventar is a recent addition, after helping Blisev's extermination of an entire Tau orbital station, he joined the retinue. Ventar is unquestioning of Blisev's authority, and sees him as a force against darkness. NOTE: AOBR captain with a backpack/arm swap

Leonidas- Pit Slave and Xenos Hunter
Leonidas was a simple guardsman who was mistakenly accused of cowardice and sent to the fighting pits. The man who sent him there was a Commissar named Patonn, and he still holds a hatred for that man and any other commissars. He now hunts xenos after fighting his way out of the pits. NOTE: All catachan parts

J4RV15- Experimental Servo Skull
J4RV15 is a servo skull gifted to Blisev after he saved a Magos's life from a tyranid Genestealer. The skull has it's own simple AI, and also carried a suite of sensors, hacking devices, and probes. NOTE: Skull and paperclips

Shas'ui Tri'caal "Sharktooth"- Tau Mercenary
The Tau known as "Sharktooth" joined Blisev's retinue after Blisev destroyed the Tau Orbital station. He is a quiet sort, and is covered in purity seals to prevent any other member of the Imperium from purging him. NOTE: Pathfinder parts and purity seals

C&C is GREATLY appreciated, thanks!

Good work here well painted interesting characters. Only one thing to my mind the Radical Inquisitors both look too much like Guardsmen, maybe some xenotech?

"But me no buts! Our comrades get hurt. Our friends die. Falkenburg is a knight who swore an oath to serve the church and to defend the weak. He'd be the first to tell you to stop puling and start planning. Because what we are doing-at risk to ourselves-is what we have sworn to do. The West relies on us. It is a risk we take with pride. It is an oath we honour. Even when some soft southern burgher mutters about us, we know the reason he sleeps soft and comfortable, why his wife is able to complain about the price of cabbages as her most serious problem and why his children dare to throw dung and yell "Knot" when we pass. It's because we are what we are. For all our faults we stand for law and light.

Thank you for the compliment first of all. Second of all I do agree with you on the looking like Guardsmen, but I was heading a slightly different direction with them. The idea (in my messed up head) was to make them more militaristic and less ornate/regal. But yes, some xenotech would not be out of place, I think I'll start on that soon. Thanks again

I do agree with Llamahead - while you may be going for a military look for the Radicals, they don't seem to breach rule and regulation in a way that really gives them the buzz of being Inquisitors rather than just guard officers. I'd suggest looking around through non-Guard kits to see if there are any bitz you like, as while there are some parts in the Guard boxes that can work very well, sticking to just guard parts can leave the models without the domineering and individual personality of an Inquisitor.

If I may, I have some critique from a fluff and gameplay perspective (although the second half does depend to an extent on whether you're more focused on INQ28 or Inquisimunda), but it would be somewhat in-depth and I wouldn't want to force it on you if it's unwarranted.

Thanks for the advice Marco, but what other kits would you suggest? I have a huge amount of Catachan parts, some SM bits, some Tau bits, and a very small amount of eldar. None of the parts for those ranges really stuck out to me to add on. Also, I would love to hear your critique on fluff/gameplay. These guys were really just an excuse for me to build interesting guys.

A lot of INQ28 modelers use Warhammer kits; Empire kits have a very large selection to choose from - Free Company, Flagelants, and Wizards especially, also the Undead range (Cairn Waith, Zombies, female Vampires and Necromancer in particular), Wood Elves (hooded heads), Bretonnian Men At Arms, Goblins and Gnoblars for mutants with head swaps, Dark Elf Witches for Death Cult Assassins. Also Chaos gets used quite a bit too - the plastic warriors with the fur cloaks, and the Nurgle Champion with axe in particular.
Even 40K wise the Black Templar and Dark Angels accessory sprues have a lot of options to customize your miniatures with.

There is nothing wrong per se with your modeling. But what you might want to bear in mind is that 40K has a lot of archetypes, and if you're going to use Space Marine parts for your Inquisitor that's fine. But you may wish to consider breaking up the "outline" of the model more. As an example from KrautScientist's fantastic plog;

Even though we can see that the basic armour is from a Terminator the different shoulder pads, scrolls, leg decoration, head, and chest all set him apart for a typical Terminator

Thanks Dreadclaw, I have been looking at the other GW ranges, and plan on picking up both a Cairn Wraith and that Nurgle Champion. Both of those I have seen turned into many things. I also used a LOTR model in my Genestealer cult (coming soon) to make an Imperial Governor. Thanks again

Here are the main antagonists for my Inquisitors. They are a Genestealer cult that the Imperial Governor is a part of. The random GS hanging off of claws will be repainted to be gore. Enjoy!

This is the only painted model for the Cult, he is the Patriarch of the Cult.

Imperial Governor Rescet
Rescet has been the governor of Carroac for close the twenty years. Ten years ago he joined the genestealer cult hidden in the city. Recently, Inquisitor Blisev learned of the cult's existence through the discovery of a dead hybrid in the streets. NOTE: LOTR Warrior of Dale model with arm and head swaps. Plus GS

These are his pet Rippers, used to dispose of threats to the cult and himself.

Two hybrids with Shotguns. NOTE: All hybrids are a mix of Catachan and Genestealer parts

Hybrid with Heavy Stubber. NOTE: stubber is Ork Big Shoota

Feral Hybrid. He has almost become a genestealer

Thanks, C&C on anything is welcome

Sorry, I've been busy with musical instruments and oversized Titans.

Fluff-wise, there's a touch of what I call "small galaxy syndrome". I see Necromunda, Catachan, Tau Empire, and Tyranid invasions... while the last two are fairly near each other, but it would be very coincidental for even Inquisitors to have travelled so far and yet had so much of their association with only famous species and worlds. Perhaps you might consider using original worlds similar to Necromunda and Catachan, but a little closer to the Eastern Fringe? The Inquisition are an excellent opportunity to explore the parts of the Imperium more distant from its front lines.

Ventar is also perhaps a little out of place - the Astartes are fairly "puritan" and not typically so trusting of the Inquisition that they'd go against that to casually work alongside a Tau. A permanent assignment is also a bit odd, as Space Marines are a very scarce resource - they can't be wasted on long investigative build-ups (they're not trained for sleuthing work and they stick out like a sore thumb) and so normally they're assigned only temporarily, when their massive combat prowess is required.
Certainly, an Inquisitor could have a long standing relationship with a specific Marine, but it would be intermittent. (Unless, of course, we're talking about those Inquisitors who take it upon themselves to lead armies or Deathwatch kill teams, but that's more the realm of WH40K than INQ28 or Inquisimunda).

As far as your genestealer cult, I'd suggest reading on the reproductive cycle of the genestealer. There's the infected generation, then four generations of increasingly human (or Ork, Eldar, etc) offspring, then the fifth generation produces (paradoxically) pure Genestealers. You don't really normally join a Genestealer cult like Rescet has - you either get infected and become a thrall of the Patriarch or you're born into it. That said, it's not impossible that he is a duped lackey of sorts - just rather unusual.

Ruleswise, if you're playing INQ28, you may find that quite so many flamers and bolters will lead to very brutal games (and Ventar definitely will - Space Marines tend to become the centre of any game, whether or not you want them to). Inquisitor is a narrative game - its about crafting stories, but stories tend not to be that interesting if everyone gets cremated or exploded in the first game!

If you're playing Inquisimunda... well, I'll refrain from commenting, I know the basics, but not well enough to assert myself regarding them.
