Hey all,

Going to my first 40k tournament in a while, I've been out of the game for some time. Thinking of taking the following:

Primary Detachment - Imperial Knights
1 Knight Errant
1 Knight Errant
1 Paladin (Warlord)

Allied Space Marines (Thinking of Iron Hands doctrine for IWND on flyers)
HQ
1 Libby (ML1) - Telekinesis
PA

Command Squad
5 Veterans - Meltaguns
Drop Pod

TROOPS
5 Scouts
Sniper Rifles

FA
1 Stormtalon
Skyhammer, TL AC

HS
1 Stormraven
TL MM, TL Las

Comes to 1750 on the dot. Plan is to basically advance and destroy with the 3 knights. Flyers will provide support and threat removal where necessary. Drop Pod + Command Squad + Librarian will be used to take suicide and take out big threats in the enemy backline. Scouts will sit around and not do too much

Would you swap anything out in the list? Is SM a decent ally for IK?

quite a solid list, but tbh i would have more ground troops for tactical objectives. Maybe get rid of the stormtalon.

This guy has it. Or drop off a drop pod and the Talon and take another plane if ya could manage it. Two MM shots from two ravens will open things up much better for the IK and there is no risk of hitting yourself like you would with a backboard DS drop pod since templates and blasts do not affect fliers. Im thinking of making an Iron hands list with knights because I just got my but kicked with plague marines.

I think SM can be a great ally for IK. You really need to bring some units that are mobile since the Ad Lance formation has to stay relatively close together to work. Drop pods are great and so are Scouts in Land Speeder Storms. I would drop the Stormtalon and Scouts for another pod of Tactical Marines so you can reliably steal an objective. I would keep the command squad, it's a nice melta unit, but would also take a Tactical squad with some plasma maybe?

Thanks for the responses guys - I've reshuffled the list a bit. Having more bodies to guard objectives makes sense.

Undecided whether to go for Ultramarines or Iron Hands for the SM allies...The IWND would be handy for the flyer, yet Ultras may help with the suicide squad...decisions!!! Let me know what you think?
