Just curious as to whether anyone knows any good conversions or alternate models for either Deneghra?

Both seem like good casters, but the current sculpts keep putting me in mind of Power Rangers villains.

The entire Cryx faction is made up of comic book levels of villainy.

If you want to participate in tournaments you'll need to convert the existing models in some way so that you use 50% of the original.

What exactly do you not like about the models?

Self-proclaimed evil Cat-person. Dues Ex Felines

Cato Sicarius, after force feeding Captain Ventris a copy of the Codex Astartes for having the audacity to play Deathwatch, chokes to death on his own D-baggery after finding Calgar assembling his new Eldar army.

It's fine, I'm unlikely to play in a tournament any time soon.

It's hard to put my finger on a specific detail, to be honest. There's just something about their overall design that doesn't appeal to me.

There is very little to differentiate "casual" and "competitive" play in WMH actually. The difference is basically where you are playing the game. The atmosphere and playstyles are virtually identical. So there is no reason to avoid tournaments, its not like 40k where the tension level and lists are very different.

Tournaments are actually the best way to improve your game by getting exposed to as many factions as possible. And because the rules are so tight its much more laid back than other game tournaments might be. The gameplay is cutthroat, but the players are very chill.

As for the models, you're probably just stuck with whatever you can do to the models, but there are many conversion threads over on the PP forums. I remember some very nice conversions of Denny over there, pretty indepth though.

I appreciate what you're saying.

However, the reason I'm unlikely to be at any tournaments isn't because I dislike the idea - it's because (to my knowledge) there are no WMH tournaments anywhere even remotely close to where I live.

Ok, I'll see if I can find those. Thanks.

Thats cool.

We have to deal with a lot of 40k players coming over and having a kneejerk aversion to competitive play.

Well, Denny fits into the standard evil witch in leather look that permeates the genre. SO that gives you a lot of good options to look into.

Check out the Reaper models. Especially female wizard/witch types.

Also, I bet you could probably use some dark elf/elder sculpts from GW. Probably worth looking over the chaos (fantasy) stuff for ideas as well.

Malifaux has some interesting models that you might be able to do a little converting on as well.

Also remember that you can buy bits straight from PP

Hopefully that will give you some ideas for some alternate models or ones you can do some minimalistic conversions to. I'm sure there are a lot more out there, but those ones I've looked at as a Cryx player looking for alternates/conversions.

Gothic female scantily clad with a glaive.

Shouldn't be hard to find.

I quite like Hellebron from the Cauldron of Khaine set from GW. Obviously you'd just want the bits not the whole kit. Then find an adequately malevolent weapon swap for the glaive.

I believe there are 3 sculpts out there for Deneghra1. The original metal sculpt that came in the original Cryx starter box. Then they resculpted that one in metal. And then they redid the starter box in plastic and she got a plastic resculpt.

Denny2 I believe only has the one.

You can always use the pHaley variant, they are twins after all. Add the spikes and swap the spears, shave off the Cygnar logos and the goggles, paint her hair black and you are set.

Huh, that's an interesting idea.
