Hi guy's i've recently been given 23 warriors 5 immortals (modelled as tesla) a doomsday ark Nemesor Zahndrekh and Vargard Obyron
I was looking for some advice on what to buy to fill out my army, i was considering remoddelling the ark as a ghostark. and getting some Canoptek Wraiths
My group tends to play 1500-2000 but will aim for 2k at the moment.
Any thoughts?
Thanks!

The decurion is very, very strong. I recently ran this list at 1850: zahndrek+obyron+orikan 7 lychguard (shields/swords) 10 warriors, GA 10 warriors, GA 5 immortals, NS 5 immortals, NS 3 tomb blades (shadowlooms, shield vanes) CCB (phase shifter, warscythe) 5 deathmarks ... against dark eldar. Practically nothing died... The deathstar is expensive, but if your opponents don't realise it's largely a distraction unit, it will soak a TON of fire. You have 2+ or 3++ (reroll 1's) with 4+ RP (re-roll 1's). The only time zahndrek ever came close to taking a wound was when I rolled 3 1's in a row (then got my RP re-roll on a 5... cue large sigh from my opponent). And that was from exploding one of his ravagers...

That does look pretty filthy. (and fun)
Do you highly rate tomb blades? (over say wraiths that everyone seems to think are op)
Shouldnt be too hard to collect the other parts of this list for me.
Thanks

tomb blades are one of the best units in the new codex, plus you need to take a unit to get the decurion bonus.
good luck finding models though!

Better is a subjective term. In CC, tomb blades are no better than an immortal, so not that good. In terms of survivability, a 3+ armor (with shield vanes) or a 4+ jink (3+ with shadowlooms) and a 4+ RP make these guys pretty tough to take down from a distance (unless they have both ignore cover and AP3 or better). In terms of firepower they are probably the most versitile necron unit as you can pick TL Gauss (auto wound on 6's), TL Tesla (+2 hits on 6's) or perticle beamers (small pie plate) on top of that you can add ignore cover(instead of the 3+ jink save)

I always have this problem with building a list. i want everything in it.
I suppose i need to take a look at what i actually want to do.
I read that the wraiths were good for protecting friendly necrons in CC and harassing enemy units.
Where as the Tomb blades will be good for capping points but also being surviviable
That the right thinkin?

That's generally true, yes. You can run tomb blades in min size squads of 3, with shadowlooms as objective grabbers, or larger squads with the nebuloscopes to put some hurt on skimmers/bikes/stuff in cover.

If you run a decurion, you can't just take Wraiths. Tomb Blades are required for the decurion, so weather they're good or not is moot (although, they are really good). They're also different units with a different purpose so you can't really compare. If you want to run Wraiths with the decurion you have to take the canoptek harvest which also requires a spyder, and scarabs.
