An approximate level of competiveness and army composition would be what I'm looking for mine is at least 2x tau 3x chaos 2x Orks 1x Eldar 2x DE 4x IOM. Id say we're low to middle competitively no one brings superheavys or knights to low point games no Nobs that I've met everyone s nice and friendly but we play to win, not a lot of spam. How about you guys?

Mostly Space Marines of the "woof" flavor (something like 5-7 I've seen)
Some Imperial Guard (3 I've seen)
Some Daemons (3 I've seen)
A couple of Chaos Space Marines (including myself, that's two I've seen)
And I think I've seen one of each of the following: Tyranids, Tau, Eldar, Necrons and Dark Eldar.

No one seems to love orks.

As for the competitive level, most everyone is pretty casual except for one player who uses space wolves to farm daemons. Nice guy, just makes me wince whenever I see him play.

Gods? There are no gods. Merely existences, obstacles to overcome.

My meta is.... interesting. It's united by a hatred of the "Internet", but some people use comp ridiculousness and some use casual stuff.

I don't currently have a group up and running, so I'll answer for my last one:

About as far from power gaming as you can get, rule of cool trumps all, armies generally built for fluff or cool units, effectiveness is an afterthought.

For a long time I was the only Marine player, and we had Tau, Eldar, CSM, IG, Orks, Crons, SoB and Nids. Never played Demons or DE.

2x orks, 1x 30k iron hands, 1x minotaurs, 4x necrons, 1x tau, 2x eldar, 1x nids, 1x salamanders, 1x BA (me!), 2x space wolves, 2x dark eldar, 2x Astra Militarum, 1x sisters, 2x chaos marines.

Competitiveness of lists ranges from 3/10 to 7/10. Only one of the DE guys and one of the ork guys tryhard in funsies matches, and their collections (and skill) aren't all that competitive, so it works out.

I keep my knights and flyers shelved most of the time unless I'm heading to an out of town tourney.

Sudbury has almost everything, with the exception of Sisters of Battle. CentStar hasn't really gained much ground here, nor has AdLance, and the lists aren't WAAC-levels of competition. Daemons are a rare sight. For each major Chapter there's someone that plays it, though Nurgle is the most common Chaos force. It's pretty great actually, considering our low population.

Our meta is pretty chill, we make fluffy lists, and we're all in it for fun. A really cool guy made both a Xeno Rising tourney and later a Chaos tourney for us.

We don't have any knights, but I know there is some interest in getting some.

We have almost every army in our area except for Eldar (YAYYYYY) We also have 2 Tau players, 2 Guard players, and 2 space marine players

Most games are between 1000-1500. Most lists will include 0-1 Fliers rarely more.

No superheavies outside of apoc or agreed upon.

No "netlists".

Mostly a friendly but competative environment, People want a fun game without the need for Min/Maxed lists they pull from the net, with some experimentation going on fairly often.

The Imperial guard player also has collections of Sisters of Battle and chaos space marines.
The Eldar player has a collection of Daemons
The Dark Angels player has a large collection of smurfs.

Pretty much every faction is represented by one player.

And this are regulars. There is another 30+ people that have armies, but their shops were closed and they have no place to play or they don't like the new edition and don't want to buy a new army.

I have two distinct groups. One is more competitive and is made up of almost every army.

The other is more laid back and is primarily:
White Scars, Tyranids, Eldar, Ultramarines, Orks, Farsight Enclaves, Tau Empire, Imperial Guard, Raven Guard, Dark Angels, Imperial Fists, Grey Knights, Necrons

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.
Orks always ride in single file to hide their strength and numbers.

Imperial Guard and Space Marines make up the two most common choices.

Tyranids make up a small minority along with Chaos forces.

Eldar, Dark Eldar, Sisters of Battle, and Tau all suffer with only a single player representing them locally.

My group is pretty good at friendly pickup games, but when we organize our local tournaments the kiddy gloves come off for everybody.

The good news? Everyone here is a good sport, and are really enjoyable to play with.

I have two, one for my student address, one for my home address.

My student address has a lot of space marines, necrons and probably a lot of Eldar players too. A dash of Tyranids and DE and a smidgen of Chaos and Tau.

In my home meta, SM still rock the top but there are more Tau. Only two Necron players, one Chaos and one AM player. I am probably the lone nid player there, lol.

Bush? No, Eldar Ranger

Vancouver, BC

I usually play at a decently-big GW store here in Vancouver (4 gaming tables standard, and sometimes they convert the painting/demo table into a game table for events or busy days), so I don't have specific numbers.

But generally Space Marines are the most common army. Ultramarines and Imperial Fists are about tied for individual chapters.

I'm not quite sure about the order of non-SM armies. I'd say there's plenty of Tyranid players, one or two less Necron players, and even fewer Chaos Marine/Demon players. There's about as many Tau as there are Necron players.

I'm one of the few Eldar players (and the only one who would bring it regularly, though I'm trying out regular SM now), and Imperial Guard are nowhere to be seen in the store's meta. In fact, I've seen more Sisters and 30k Mechanicus than I've seen IG/AM/MT.

I play Orks in a sea of space marines. I've played against Daemons, CSM, Space Wolves, Necrons, and tyranids. But it's usually my horde against tac squads in rhinos. Casual play nothing to intense. Used to play a TFG in high school who had a guard/marine list, but everyone else I've ever played has been super chill.

It wouldn't be so bad if GW could remotely do math. I'll be drowning in Eldar soon, as the only counter to scatbikes is scatbikes.

A Protoss colony world

My local meta is pretty varied. I've seen almost every army be played at least once, but some are more common than others. For instance, at local tournaments, I almost always see at least one Guard army and a couple of different flavors of Space Marines (including my Dark Angels), with Grey Knights being perhaps the most popular. Eldar are pretty common around here, too, as are Tau. I've only ever seen Sisters of Battle once, ditto for Dark Eldar (both at the most recent tournament I was at, just the other day). There's usually at least one Ork player in the tournaments, as well. Imperial Knights are quite popular here, too, usually with at least one player running AdLance. One of the regulars likes to bring his Necrons, which are beautifully painted...by his wife! The only major army I have not seen at any of the tourneys I've been to is Tyranids. I've never seen very much Forge World stuff, either (no 30k armies), other than the occasional single model. I also don't think we have anyone around running Skitarii yet, but I'm sure someone will soon. Of course, once I get my new stuff assembled we will have a Khorne Daemonkin player too!

My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/1/23, including modeled wargear options):
Dark Angels: ~15000 Astra Militarum: ~1200 | Adeptus Custodes: ~1900 | Imperial Knights: ~2000 | Sisters of Battle: ~3500 | Leagues of Votann: ~1200 | Tyranids: ~2600 | Stormcast Eternals: ~5000
