Yeah, I'll be going! Both the Invitational and Lock and Load (The Invitational is a special event for the volunteers (Press Gangers and such) the day before Lock and Load. We get to hang out, chat with the staff, and play games. Good times!
Lock and Load is a fantastic experience for all things Privateer Press. Like the
RPG? Then you'll get to play a session with the guys that actually wrote the game. Like High Command? How about playing a game or two of High Command with
DC, the guy that designed the game? Like Level 7? etc. etc.
There are developer sessions all though out the convention- painting classes, sculpting classes, writing classes, "State of Affairs of the Iron Kingdoms" put on by Doug Seacat- the Fluff Guru of the Iron Kingdoms. Artwork presentations, upcoming releases, etc. etc.
There is Iron Arena (72 hours of playing Warmachine/Hordes to get skulls (tickets) that you can trade in for prizes), I don't know how many Hard Core, Masters, Steamrollers, Iron Gauntlet and whatever else tournaments will be going on. And there will be staff wondering around looking for games to play.
If you are a big fan, Lock and Load is the convention to attend.
