Tyranids - Hive Fleet Detachment

Tervigon = 195

Mucolid = 15
Mucolid = 15
Mucolid = 15

Malanthrope = 85

Exocrine = 170

Double Tervigons because whynaut.

Now I can do three things:

1) Keep list as.
2) Drop Exocrine and get 2x10 units of Gargoyles, or Hormagaunts w/ Egrubs on Tervigons.
3) Drop a Tervigon and get Gargoyles and Tyrannocyte or Hormagauns, Tyrannocyte and EGrubs.

Which option would be best?Three Flyrants is a given, performed exceedingly well at 1250.

Last I checked, you had a pentyrant list floating about? Do you want advice on specifically this based on your 3 suggestions?

This one preferably. I would run PenTyrant in a kill everything mission.

But for the tournament there are going to be five objectives, one of which is the Relic. With the current format, we might not get T5 so I'd like a grounded list that can hold objectives T1 to 5.

Or hopefully get it changed to Maelstrom

Alright, well personally i'd go with option 2, drop the exocrine and get yourself the gargoyles. You need a nice screen to protect your oh so precious tervigons, i know they spawn their own, but at the end of the day there's always going to be someone who's gonna argue you don't get the cover because of not being 25% obscured. Gargoyles have a huge surface area, and you'll always get that 5+, boosted to a 3+ cus of spore cloud, cover save. I found the other two options un-viable, because a lone tervigon is just too easy to pick on. At the end of the day it's all down to you, that's just my 2 cents, i've never found the exocrine to be that great.

I like dropping the Exocrene, adding Thorax to the Tervigons, and I famously, like Hormagaunts... But Gargoyles are dang useful as well...

Yeah, I'm actually a dunce and realised I'd have 50 points leftover if I had the Gargoyles in place of Exocrine.

EGrubs and Crushing Claws?

Definitely, splashing extra points to make your tervigons tank killers is great, considering you already lack a good answer for av13+. Another reason the gargoyle screen is good to keep them alive.
