Something which bothered me lately was the Forge World Stompa. It looks amazing to say the least and incredibly makeshift(aka orky.) That is where my dilemma kicks in. This is more expensive then the GW one. They are sized the same. Also, what happened to Gargants? I remember going to a fight where the nearest place to play was and for every Ork army, a Gargant. Now I never see Gargants! So, what happened? Are Stompas better? Will Gargargants return? So many questions!

Gargants don't have regular 40 k rules I think. But the warlord titan is otw so who knows.

warhammer 40k mmo. If I can drive an ork trukk into the back of a space marine dread and explode in a fireball of epic, I can die happy!

You could get some fairly workable gargant rules by slapping two Stompa profiles together

Of course it's more expensive. It's Forge World. A Trukk from Forge World is likewise more expensive than the GW one.

Makes sense, though: it's the plastic kit plus resin parts.

A Gargant in 40K? Sure you're not thinking about Epic et. al.?

Kind of like how you could get a workable gargant model by slapping two Stompa kits together?

Yeah, may as well throw in the hydraphants and gargants because it's coming.

GW Stompa:

£70

Forgeworld Stompa:
http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/Warhammer-40000/Orks/ORK_INFANTRY_AND_WALKERS/ORK-STOMPA-WITH-HEAD-ARM-WEAPONS-AND-BELLY-GUN.html
"This Ork Stompa variant contains the Head, Klaw and Lifta-Droppa arms, the Belly Gun and a plastic Stompa kit. "
£166 (70+31+31+35+39=£206)

Cheapest FW Stompa is the GW kit and arms. There is no plastic-only kit from FW.

Either you get the bog-standard GW Stompa, or the kick-ass FW one with lots of extras.

I know :(
I saw that when they were released. Are the bitz compatible between the kits?
