Hey guys i have a game on sat with an Eldar player and a Tau player (seperate games) and i just wanted to make a fun list to see how it would do. As far as i know they also are bringing "fun lists" but whether those lists are comic humor or watch me get decimated and laugh humor remains to be seen. Here is what i got.

HQ: 325Pts

Daemon Prince
-Mark of Nurgle
-Wings
-Power Armor (3+ armor save)
-Mastery Level 3
- Burning Brand of Scalathrax

Troops: 175Pts

25 Cultists
-Autoguns

10 Cultists

Elites: 420Pts

5 Chosen
-4 Plasma Guns

5 Chosen
-4 Plasma Guns

Helbrute
-Plasma Cannon
-Missle Launcher

Dedicated Transport: 70Pts

Rhino

Rhino

Notes:

The cultists and helbrute are in the helcult formation so the larger group of cultists have fearless and the group of 10 cultists will stay with the hellbrute to give it cover. The Daemon Prince is a makeshift Heldrake with the burning brand and he will try to summon some darmons even though he only has 3 mastery levels i seem to be lucky with em. The chosen are on vehicle and WK duty along with just being fun to have 4 plasma guns. the rhinos will house the chosen and if need be act as cover or tank shock some stuff (not desirable). The helbrute will just shoot his plama cannon and missle launcher at range hopefully soften up the ranks so the cultists can get dug in.

/Notes

Any thoughts? what else could i put in? what could i change? how would you play it? how do you think it will do?

If it is a fun list only then just play it and experience but here is my comments:

1 - Your HQ is bloody expensive. I understand that Daemon Prince are killer but for a 1000pts army you just spend 33% in a single character. If you are not too lucky with dices you will be table pretty early. I would consider a much cheaper one such as a sorcerer if you only want to summon other daemons.

2 - The hellcult formation. The purpose is to protect your hell brute and make it to CC combat asap as you also benefits from the rage special rule. Drop the Missile Launcher and keep the power fist.

3 - Weak again motorized formation (i.e. IG, Tau, Eldar). Your plasma are all Str 7. If facing a land raider and/or lemn russ you will have a hard time getting rid of him (and can not rely only on the Prince). Drop 2 plasma in each Chosen squad and get yourself some Meltagun or at least some melt bombs.

4 - No CCW with AP. Imagine if your Prince get shoot to death. How do you deal with high armor saves in CC? You heel brute do not have any AP in CC and none of your squad have any power weapon. SW and BA will have a fun time agains you.

Hope it help

Also youre army will be unbound since formation don't take or fill eny slots , so you have only 1 troop choice . And I also think that dat prince is ower pumped for 1 k points

So as I take it the fun factor of your list is all the plasma. I feel taking the burning brand on a cheap sorcerer or lord is the way to go, as you will see a lot of light and medium infantry in 1000 point games. Stick the burning brand carrier in a rhino with a naked 75 pt squad and don't take him out of it. Also, havocs are cheaper. I'd go with them.

My take on it:

Chaos Sorcerer- ML 3, BBoS, Spell Familiar (Warlord)
5 Chaos Space Marines- Rhino (Sorcerer here)
10 Chaos Cultists
5 Havocs- 4 Plasma Guns, Rhino
5 Havocs- 4 Plasma Guns, Rhino

Helcult formation:
Helbrute- Plasma Cannon, Missile Launcher
10 Chaos Cultists

That's 820 points, last 180 are up to you what to do with. I'd probably roll with pyromancy on the sorcerer.

Why would you need a spell familiar anymore? You don't have to make leadership tests for psychic powers in 7th

Actually, Spell familiars are more powerful than ever."Re-roll failed Psychic tests" means if you need to cast a 3 WC spell, and you roll 4 dice to cast it, and you only roll two 4+s, you get to re-roll all four dice and try again!

Since you are much more likely to fail tests now, spell familiars get much more value for their cost.

EDIT: Spell familiars have nothing to do with leadership, which was good writing on GWs part, as the war gear is timeless that way.

Don't take the burning brand on your daemon prince since you want to be Jinking with a 2+ and you won't be able to use it.

It also works for the csm prince aswell, jink is a 4++ which improves to a 2++ due to shrouding from the daemon of nurgle rules.

Personally my take on a list for 1k games would be somthing like this:

Chaos Sorcerer- ML 3, Spell Familiar, Aura of dark glory, melta bombs - 145

5 Chaos Space Marines - Melta gun - 85
Rhino - 35
5 Chaos Space Marines - Melta gun - 85
Rhino - 35

10 Chaos Cultists - Flamer - 55

5 Havocs - 4 Plasma Guns - 135
Rhino - 35
5 Havocs - 4 Plasma Guns - 135
Rhino - 35

Helcult formation:
Helbrute- Plasma Cannon - 110
10 Chaos Cultists - Flamer - 55
10 Chaos Cultists - Flamer - 55

"If the unit Jinks, all models in
the unit with this special rule gain a 4+ cover save until the start of their next

turn."

I believe template weapons can only be snap fired in overwatch, for D3 automatic hits. You might be able to get D3 auto hits when firing normally, but I don't think so.

With all those plasma chosen, I feel you could really benefit from Cypher's lost and damned formation. Only thing better than plasma chosen is infiltrating plasma chosen. Though changerofways is right with the havocs. If you don't run the formation, I'd stick with havocs instead.

I think its only one formation per CAD though, so that means losing the helcult formation. I may be wrong on that one though.

"Because we couldn't be trusted. The Emperor needed a weapon that would never obey its own desires before those of the Imperium. He needed a weapon that would never bite the hand that feeds. The World Eaters were not that weapon. We've all drawn blades purely for the sake of shedding blood, and we've all felt the exultation of winning a war that never even needed to happen. We are not the tame, reliable pets that the Emperor wanted. The Wolves obey, when we would not. The Wolves can be trusted, when we never could. They have discipline we lack, because their passions are not aflame with the Butcher's Nails buzzing in the back of their skulls.

The Wolves will always come to the heel when called. In that regard, it is a mystery why they name themselves wolves. They are tame, collared by the Emperor, obeying his every whim. But a wolf doesn't behave that way. Only a dog does.

That is why we are the Eaters of Worlds, and the War Hounds no longer."

i ran the list yesterday and the havoks did poorly as they killed themselves over 2 turns, the helcult worked perfectly and gave my helbrute an extra turn to shoot at fire warriors and he in all killed about 7 over 3 turns and i put in a lord with termi armour and black mace. the lord assualted those scout suit things and killed 2 in combat and the black mace curse killed the last one and 4 drones that were close by leaving one suit (running away) and the drone... (i dont remember exactly...) we were tied the entire game untill the end where he had lots of good rolls and tabled me and that put him over me with objectives

Taking the Crimson Slaughter supp and giving the Balestar to a sorcerer for the divination primarus is a great way to reduce the number of accidents on your plasma dudes, but only works on one squad at a time. You could also take a tzeentch herald as an ally for 2 divination primarus sorcerers.
