In the process of “completing” my Catachan Force.

Below is how the models stand right now.

Thankfully, all the infantry is “ready to play” (i.e. painted).

All the Artillery (and Chimera) were picked up on the cheap from trades and auction sites. It was all in need of quite a lot of repair (cemented plastic in the wrong places, pools of superglue like you wouldn’t believe, superficial damage, and random artefacts glued in random places), but is now, at least, decent enough to photograph (still work to go).

The aim is to get the whole force painted to the same standard.



Background “fluff” –

“Born in the thorny grip of the Imperium’s most notorious ‘Death World’, the Catachan 85th Regiment carry the torch of the Emperor to the galaxies darkest regions.
What is left of the 85th is but a shattered fragment of it’s former strength. Campaign, after campaign they have waged war upon the Xenos and heretic. What remains is led by a stoic figure, “Commander Socrates”. Like many before him, Socrates leads his men to glory on the frontlines of battle, bellowing orders to his comrades and smiting the enemy who dare to stand before them.
Specialising in the art of Jungle Warfare, the 85th are often deployed on worlds considered to ‘hostile in environment’ for other forces to dare tread. World after world, sector after sector, the 85th have illuminated all in the order of the Imperium’s glow.
You will hear no sonnets spoken of their deeds, you will read no extracts of their accomplishments, for the 85th regiment are “The Unsung”, a living embodiment and testament to the countless before them who laid down their lives for the preservation of humanity.”
