So I have a 1750 list and I need your help on making the final decision. I'm running venom spam with 2 razorwing jetfighters , 2 ravanger, and 2 raider. Now I have enough points for a mele unit so the choices for the points left are either 4 grotesque that will ride in a raider or 8 khymera 2 razor wing flock and 2 beastmaster.
Now I know beast star is dead however this unit still looks very good and can hold down some nice enemy stars. yes it may give up first blood but let's talk pros and cons of the two. I have seen grotesque dominate but I also have recently watched this beast unit do really well also and tie up some big threats. thank you all in advance and I look forward to seeing what everyone comes up with.

I like the Beastpack.m at least it is fast enough to require your opponents shooting first turn. 1st Blood doesn't matter, you are running Venom Spam, you've got easy kills all over.

Haha very well said zagman and I guess first blood on the beast is better then on the venoms right?

I vote beasts purely for the numbers. DE are almost always going to be outnumbered. However, using a beast star can help throw on another 15 models and draw fire. Either your beasts will get shot to hell and the venoms will survive, or your beasts will arrive relatively unscathed and cause some trouble in your opponent's lines.
