So the new book has been out for a while and I was wondering what people think of it.

I like how Khador are doing well in the fluff.

Quite happy with all my other new toys, Ruin is brilliant, but the Rager is bloody awesome with its arm20 shield guard. Mad dog has some place too. Zerkova2 is quite nasty as well, and Victor seems pretty beasty, still no boon for MoW, but alas we can't have everything.

Are you happy with what you got? Or was it all a big disappointment?

I found it on the shelf in my FLGS and then in my bag for the trip home

I've really enjoyed it so far, loving new Horse Face and going to have to get some Doom Reavers to go with her

I'm keen on the Idea of a pair of Mad Dogs also both speeding off across the table and then both on the same turn getting three focus and going for the suicide Trample assassination run

I'm eyeing off a 9 or 10 jack and 6 or so puppy Butcher3 tier 1 list haha. Ragers and Mad Dogs everywhere!

I was pretty disappointed in the fluff though. Massive cop out on the "we're totally going to kill someone major" claim. Just don't say stuff like that if you're going to cop out of it

The fluff was bad, but the models amazing. Easily the best set of models released for Menoth in the last two maybe even three years.

Yeah, Durst looks pretty impressive. And I like that Khador now has a light heavy jack.

I do hope there is a fluff improvement in the next book (along with Epic Karchev/Strakhov unit, maybe with Strakhov riding Karchev into battle) But I'm glad they cleared up the Cryx in the Thornwood saga.

Just waiting on all the kits now.


And I think eZ is pretty good looking, in a certain kind of light (none)

Mad Dog is awesome. If I played Khador I'd take one. Perfectly designed for what he wants to do and while I have heard many people cry he needs to be a bit better, remember he's only 5 pts. He's a 5pt heavy. if you make him better he no longer costs 5 pts.

Ret did well though I'm not sold on our electromancers. Kinda wish they were a character unit with boxes & a bit more durable. Thyron looks awesome.

I'm a PoM player and a soon to be Cephalyx player (been eyeing them for ages!) So iI'm a very happy camper!

I really liked the new models in reckoning honestly. PP seems to be trying new things like with Helios and Haley3. No real straight misses other than swamp gobber river raiders.

Even the river riders are pretty good for their points.

I like all the cryx stuff, though the shrike is a bit lackluster (still have niche uses for it though). Loving my proxy games with Denny3, soul trappers, and the sepulcher.

All the new models/artwork in each faction is pretty awesome though.

I thought they did a good job of giving factions (some of) what they were asking for while keeping it fairly balanced and introducing some new, interesting concepts.

All in all I like it.

Wow really? That's interesting, most Cygnar players I've heard are all about Haley3 and are completely down on Hurricane, can you expound on this a bit?

Really liking the Cryx Soul Collectors, I'll be getting a few of those for sure. 3Denny will be got when I get round to it, in fairness probably after I get the last 3 casters I need. This is more of a "have time to built and paint her" kinda thing as these days real life sucky things get in the way more and more! :(

Other than that not too wow'd by the other Cryx stuff. I'm sure I'll get them at some point and other people will be find better uses for them than what I can see first off.

Actually really like the Khador additions which is kind of annoying as I passed them off to a mate a while ago!

I don't play Cygnar but Hayley3 looks.... meh to me. Sorry Cygnar dudes, feel free to hurl "silly Cryxian scum dont know nuffin" flavoured abuse!

Liking the Merc bits. Ever more tempted to start a little Merc force. (But wont just yet as still to try out my CoC)

Other than that, nice to see another decent book. Will pick it up sooner or later and have a good read!

I just can't see the mechanics of what will make her break in to eHaley/pCaine/N3mo let alone pHaley/Siege/eCaine/Kraye as a top caster.

I'm big fan of board control, I think Hurricane can really do a lot of leg work that I get Stormwall to do while also aiding in the board control section a little more.

Any news on the rumours that the new Collosals will be a 2 in 1 box?

Only Cygnar could get a FOCUS 8/12/16 caster with access to force hammer, revive, ghost walk, upkeep removal, weapon master and go "meh, kinda sucks"

Technically; unless it's feat turn, it's 8/10/12.

Only the Shrike and the Soul Collectors interest me. The Shrike will go nicely into my pSkarre pirate theme list.

New players will appreciate the incoming plastic Seether. I already have two so I'm not so bothered.

Yea haley3 is really good caster. Maybe not a ballbusting to certain factions as haley2 was but haley3 is still REALLY good. I mean the unit has 18 focus to work with on feat turn which is pretty crazy.

The projections have incorporeal which is good and little haley is a boss.

Are you kidding? Haley 3 meh??? Haley 3 is awesome, sure not eHaley, but they aren't going to release a caster with a shut down feat like eHaley's every book. She/They is/are a really great caster(s). Cygnar now able to bring back troops with revive? Hell yeah!

The Hurricane is freaking amazing - add it to a snipe caster and you're pushing D6 up to 16 inches at range? that could effectively take a heavy jack/beast out of the entire game. oh and BTW - arc node! Cygnar players have been waiting for an arc node on a model that doesn't suck since Prime. (I don't count the Thorn as a second model).

Trench Busters are ok. Can't complain about Cygnar getting a multi-wound medium base infantry model, even if it is a solo...

From where I'm sitting, I like it. Really, the new Steelhead Solo is freaking AWESOME! Hey, you like tough Steelheads? I do! Oh, what's that? They have flank? And get Defensive line? Sign me up. I can already see a lot of situations I could use him in, and he looks awesome. Mad Dog seems cool, I feel like I'll use one with my Khador stuff, mostly to use up some Jack points since my Khador tend to run a little light on jacks honestly. I like it so far, but want to spend some more time with it. I give it a 7/10 because the fluff is a little eh IMO this time around, but I've seen worse, if I liked it more I would give it an 8/10, need to have some more time with it

Just picked up the book on Monday. First off I think the artwork is amazing, they did a excellent job. Being a PoM player I am quite happy with the book, can't wait to get my hands on some of these upcoming models. Have not had time yet to read the fluff but Iam really looking forward to it.

Aside from crazy (awesome) spam lists like this, I'm not sold on the Mad Dog. I've never gotten accomplished anything with Trampling, and any other work it does, it does it with two MAT 5 P+S 14 attacks. Yeah, it's only 5 points, but I have my doubts it's worth even that. Maybe after a lot of people get play time with the model, and they find a way it can reliably perform, I'll consider getting one. And only one. I'll leave the spam lists to the mad geniuses like motyak.

As for the other Khador stuff in Reckoning, I like it all. I have some concerns with Z2 about certain matchups, but I think she's going to be pretty fresh and fun.

Sadly, nothing for my Convergence or Highborn Covenent armies. My Khador got some stuff though!

I wish the Haley story arch hadn't been so Mary Sue, but the rest was alright.

Look at his theme force, where the war dog fa increases for each jack he fields. A proper 'dogs of war' army!

They should call this theme mad dogs of war. Then you can have mad dogs of war and mad dogs of war.
