Seriously though, I am not sure if I am going to back this.

I am utterly handicapped when it comes to designing things, so can't really make use of the custom designed decals, and don't really want or need the posters.

I think you are going to make it anyway, then I will buy retail from you. I have set a reminder though, just in case my backing might help.

I wish you the best of luck in it, and after watching the intro trailer, think you deserve backing based on that alone.

Well with the custom designed decals we will design it for you, all you need to do is tell us what you want

And even small pledges help. You could pledge $10 and get a pre-designed decal sheet. They will be $15 retail when the store is live. So you could save yourself 5 bucks.

Is there a possibility of a pledge level for international backers without the posters, to perhaps reduce shipping? Because quite honestly I want to back for some custom decals but $10 shipping is giving me serious pause.

Also, the custom sheets, can they have text? Say I wanted a variety of sizes of the same image, and one or two sets of the same words?
Or would that require two separate sheets?

The $10 shipping is for a secure padded envelope that is tracked and insured. I was going by Kickstarters estimates. You can sub the posters for an additional pre-designed sheet if you want. Just email me after you make a pledge. Thanks!

Could you do very tiny script? For putting in wee books/parchments/ engraved armour and such?

Also, does it have to be flat colour? are graduations possible? Like a flame that goes smoothly from red - orange - yellow?

Posters can be swapped out for 1 additional pre-designed decal sheet. Just message me in Kickstarter when/if you make a pledge. It's funny I'm getting a complete 50/50 response on the posters. Some people love them and are asking to buy them separately, other people have no interest. It's interesting.

Yes I can do tiny script, the printer goes to 1200DPI which is 4x photo quality resolution. And yes gradations are possible. Thanks!

Hm, OK. I'll think about it. Not too enthused about it, but I do understand you are trying to control efforts and costs if swaps suddenly happened like that all over the place.

That is awesome. I have nothing against the posters, just nowhere to put them, and don't want to deal with the costs of shipping them.

If you are interested in any way, the Kickstarter is where you'll be getting the best prices and once that campaign is over it'll be full retail price when the store goes live in August. All the pledge rewards are about 20-40% off the retail prices. The higher level pledges have substantial discounts applied to them. Even the lowest level pledge is $5 off retail.

Unfortunately, I couldn't mention that in the kickstarter because it's against their rules to use words like "discounts" even when it's your own product you are discounting. I don't know why, seems silly...but I have to follow the rules

Just for reference, you definitely can mention that your Kickstarter rewards are discounted from retail price - most campaigns do. The thing you can't do is offer a "coupon" for later discount off of products when sold at retail, for example (although many campaigns give access to add-ons at reduced prices).

The Mierce campaigns are actually a great example of showing the discounts, which they do right in their images:


Anyway, just wanted to note that since you can put it on your campaign page if you wish! The only other thing that is a bit tricky to navigate is the rules for contests, which generally aren't allowed if intimately connected to the Kickstarter.

Fallout Hobbies almost Broke 7K in funding!
This is awesome cause now we can start working on the stretch goal of airbrush stencils. Initially we were thinking metal stencils, but after a great conversation with Mr. Justin from Secret Weapon Miniatures, we are going to look into self-adhesive vinyl stencil sheets. Which would be cheaper than metal and would open up the option for custom cut vinyl stencils just as we’ll be offering custom decals! How awesome would that be? More on that aspect next week.

Fallout Hobbies is now producing pre-designed and custom designed vinyl airbrush stencils
Initially we were thinking metal stencils, but after a great conversation with Mr. Justin from Secret Weapon Miniatures, we opted to produce self-adhesive vinyl stencil sheets. We will be offering Pre-designed sheets as well as an option for custom designed sheets at the same prices as the decal sheets. Each vinyl sheet is 8” x 10” produced on a low-tack self-adhesive black vinyl. It won’t rip the paint off underneath and can be reused several times.

All current backers can elect to swap a pre-designed decal sheet for a pre-designed vinyl stencil, or a custom designed decal sheet for a custom designed vinyl stencil.

If the shipping to the UK were cheaper I'd be all over this! (I know that's not your fault and it isn't a deal breaker, just making me think a lot harder about backing.)
