Hey all, just started my first foray into FOW, and could use your help.
I purchased the Open Fire! box (still waiting on it to ship) and happened to chance across a lot of US Paratroopers at a garage sale at a steal price, so I picked it up.

So far I've counted
1 blister of Lt. Turnbull
1 blister of Para Snipers
1 blister- Pathfinder team
1 blister- para supply cart

Here comes the bit im lost on since there's no packaging. I've counted
76 riflemen
7 bazooka teams
4 3-man mortar teams
12 B.AR. riflemen
35 Thompsons
9 2- man .30 cal teams
2 carbine rifles
2 colt pistols

Do any of you have any rough idea of what box the previous owner bought, or would be able to suggest force books to look into?
I'm going to try to pick up a book at my local store soon, but in the meantime I'm curious about what I actually have, force wise.

Thanks!

Are the unpackaged ones plastic or metal? Tat would let us figure out which possible box more easily.

As there's also the outside chance that they might not be Battlefront figs, any chance of posting pics?

Are the loose figs paras or regular infantry?

The large lot of infantry sounds like a rifle company box set. You may also have a weapons platoon blister, a MG platoon blister and a few bazooka team blisters.

In a van down by the river

Assuming BF figs, it sounds like a Parachute Rifle Company Box + Parachute Rifle Platoon.

Links to BF's product pages so you can see if that roughly jives with what you've got:

I'm currently away from home, but will post pictures when I get home. They're definitely paratroopers (can tell by the betting on the helmets and expanded pockets), and for sure from FOW.

Would those .30 cal teams be on mixed bases w riflemen, or alone?
How would the actual team compositions look on bases?
Finally, are there any books that would support this force along with the Sherman's that are included in Open Fire?

Market Garden. Your best bet is to go to the BF website and look up the teams you are building. Their pics are pretty good on how many models go on the stands.

I got Market Garden just not fan, in nuts you can swap out rifle teams for zooks.
Nachjager they get the cool new toys,Recoiless guns and the rifle mg combo is a option, where you can 2 rifle teams with a 30 cal team being seperate, you can really beef them up by making weapon team detachments, add a recoiless gun and a extra 30 cal team. So for a standerd platoon
you may have a mortar,zook,57mm recoiless and add a additional 2 30 cal teams, for me that is alot of fire power, just the 5 30 cals for a platoon is 25 dice...owww and 2 at weapons plus a mortar for smoke.9 dice for the rifles and hq smg.
Butthat is what i am running so it just a recommendation. Also you can buy the list if you dont want the book on forces for a buck.
