Hi fellow Dakkadakkas

Not been playing 40k for quite a long time, unless you count a friendly game now and then.

Alot of armies have begun to have all kind of special rules that require you to have a computers memmory ready. So I was wondering if there is a army where the units are not always special rules 1, 2, 3..... alot of them.

Been looking at tau, but also seems to attracted alot of wird rules to keep track of!

Someting a bit more simple.

I have been playing eldar, wish always seems to have been all about exceptions and more rules and a little space marines...

some armies you can recomend?

Space Marines, Eldar, Dark Angles the Mechanicus I forgets their namus and Necrons just have been updated. Well updated in the new way.

Tau is rumoured to be redone in 4 months after Age of Sigmar (new Fantasy) has had it's lime light.

Not sure if this will help you or not. Just know that GW seems to reboot rules and codices every 2 years now.

Edit. As to what to play, what is your play style? Want a horde or Elite style? Shooty or Assault? Maybe a combination of all of them? Is psychic powers matter to you? There is a phase just for psychics now.

Agies Grimm:The "Learn to play, bro" mentality is mostly just a way for someone to try to shame you by implying that their metaphorical nerd-wiener is bigger than yours. Which, ironically, I think nerds do even more vehemently than jocks.

Everything is made up and the points don't matter. 40K or Who's Line is it Anyway?

that is a good question.

I would be nice to play a army where i dont need to renember a ton of special rules.
Well, it could be fun with a more shooty army, where it is with many or few soldiers matter not so much.

psykic is in my mind not the big thing

I don't play no more, but others will be better to say, but small army, small rules, Imperial Knights.

One two or three minis. May not have a lot of friends afterwards, but if you play for fun, and not too serious, and must win, you should be able to have fun with them.

Maybe Elite Space Marines for a few model count but not be very effective. But they can have lots for rules.

So with Imperial Knights, low model count, not many rules compared to Space Marines and no psychics that I know off. Beautiful minis, but expensive.

Then again what is not expensive from GW?

Orks are fairly simple, charge everything. Plus, they're always a blast to play

If you like a real challenge or extreme difficulty levels on par with Ninja Gaiden Sigma, Demon Souls, Dark Souls 1&2, Blood Borne, then play Chaos Space Marines!

Playing with the units in CSM codex you will rage quite so hard you will flip tables and stomp on models!

thanks for all the answers and tips.

What i am looking for is not the smallest or most difficult armies around, but something more simple than every unit ever have their own special rules, so I dont need to sit with my head in the rules book half of the gaming time.

Necrons have easy-to-remember weapon profiles and rules, and with the majority of units, all models must be equipped the same way, with no special weapons models or Sergeants with special rules that are different from the main unit. The new formations do add a level of rules-complexity, but not so bad.

IIME Mono-mark Chaos Space Marines armies are pretty easy to keep track of.

I've found that at least with wargear, assembling your models so that they are WYSIWYG helps out alot.
