Painting Buddha have done a free 8 chapter video for painting the free Stormcast Eternal miniature which comes with White Dwarf 75. This video is almost 3 hours of step by step on how to paint the miniature in a Non Metallic Metal style presented by Three times Slayer Sword winner Ben ' White Rabbit' Komets.

For those that don't know about Painting Buddha. it is a company that creates showcase quality painting tutorials for a variety of miniature ranges (In their catalogue you can find for example Forge World Horus, Warmachine Cygnar Warjack and Mierce Miniatures Aanchuth) They provide a range of videos for free on their youtube channel https://www.youtube.com/user/paintingbuddha in 720p. Also they have a Painting Buddha Academy for 42 Euros one time fee that gives you access to all videos in 1080p as well as bonus videos showing extra techniques. It really is one of the best value deals if you want to become a better painter. The 42 Euros will eventually give you access to 14 step by steps, currently they have done 6 already up.

On to the vids!

Videos only is the equivalent of a giant wall of text.

For visuals, pictures are the summary.

"'players must agree how they are going to select their armies, and if any restrictions apply to the number and type of models they can use."

This is an actual rule in the actual rulebook. Quit whining about how you can imagine someone's army touching you in a bad place and play by the actual rules.

The tutorials they put out have helped my painting as much as anything I've found. From an information learned standpoint, they are on par with a 1 on 1 class with a skilled painter who is also just as skilled at teaching. They go into great detail on the explanation and showing the techniques they are using.

These guys at Painting Buddha do a fantastic job of breaking down all the info you need to know - paint consistency, mixing, loading the brush, properties of different types of paint, terminology of all the different techniques and explanation of why they are used and everything else. Great narration and questions asked by a second person - always entertaining and informative.

They do a huge range of model types but they break it down so it translates to whatever you may be working on. Metals, non-metallic metal, true metallics, leather, skin, fur, bases, armor, cloth, OSL glow, eyes, faces, hair. Each complete video is broken down into multiple parts (usually ranging from 10-50+) minutes showing a different technique/aspect of the painting.

The production of the videos is top-notch and beyond all else, these guys are some of the nicest people in the community trying to do amazing stuff for the hobby. They are one of us. They interact with their customer base constantly and want what is best for the painting/modeling community at large.

It's the best value I've found out there. 14 videos (each containing multiple parts like the 8 part Sigmar video shown here) to join their academy for access to them is amazing. They constantly release content as well. No waiting 6-9 months with nothing new to watch like I've found with other subscription services.

Anyway, you can tell that I am really hoping they succeed.

Thank you for sharing, I really enjoyed the pallet camera on the first video.
What I enjoyed:
I think the techniques shown are demonstrated clearly and the look is beyond anything I've achieved (so far). I especially appreciated the time when a line was made thicker than desired and that to save it, it became a scratch on the armor. I also appreciate the explanations that talk to the goals of each segment. The cracks and scratches add life to the mini and I appreciate seeing those developed in real time, especially when I can see the paints from the pallet being used on each portion.

Feedback:
The pallet camera disappeared in subsequent videos (at least 2-3 so far) I would like to see that in more videos. Since in the first three videos, the color combinations used are the same as in the first, this isn't the end of the world, the main focus on 2 and 3 are application technique and determining where the highlights and shadows should be on different surfaces. I would also like to see a list of paints used, either in the youtube video description as text or at the start of each segment. A caption/picture in picture of the paints on the pallet would be fantastic.
Sometimes the audio wasn't the greatest. I did like the dialogue during the video, the volume of the voices was not consistent and I sometimes had to back up to hear what was said. I'm not sure if this is a problem with my audio setup or with the audio on the video, I'll check with a better audio setup later, but it seems like sometimes the voice isn't always pointed at the microphone and sometimes can sound muffled.

TLDR:
I've enjoyed the first 3 videos and have subscribed to your channel. Thank you for posting these how-tos and I look forward to seeing the rest of your channels.

Hi Mike, I passed your feedback on. Regarding the palette cam, unfortunately Ben moved a lamp in a break and accidently covered the palette cam! Unfortunate in this case. They have another series coming soon for the Chaos Lord video so hopefully that will help you out.

The wolves go for the throat.
We go for the eyes.
Then the tongue.
Then the hands.
Then the feet
Then we skin the crippled remains.
