Hi,

I noticed that the Kromac character has the albino trollkin character's axe. I take it the latter dude is dead? I don't think I've read any WM/H fluff since I first glanced through the first book, but now I'm curious. What happened?

No one knows. The model was shown before the fiction was released. Basically he was promoted to champion of the apocalypse and told to get dat axe.

Seriously doubt madrak is dead though. He's been trying to rid himself of it for ages...

Some stuff happened in the last Hordes book and Madrak lost the axe. It was recovered by an "interested" third party, and then given to Kromac.

We won't know the fallout from all this until the next book.

I.e.; Madrak's leadership position within the Trollbloods was based on him holding Rathrok, and all based on a prophesy from a long time ago. The axe was considered a potent artifact, but also a symbol of authority by the Trolls. It's been strongly implied before that the interested third party is the one that made that prophesy in the first place, and may have made the axe as well.

Kromac having Rathrok has some very interesting implications for the Circle of Orboros. Namely that the Devour Wrym wants to consume the world and end it. Rathrok was prophesied to herald the end of the world.

In both factions, these events will probably create some leadership schisms. Like Madrak will probably lose more followers and Doomshaper will become the new leader, but since Madrak decided to go on a walk about, Grissel Bloodsong really stepped up to lead the Kriels. I bet there will be some tension between HoHoarluk Doomshaper and Grissel Bloodsong.

In Circle, Kromac was always treated as a beast, controlled by the Circle of Druids (mainly Morvahna and Krueger) for whatever ends they desired. Now, the balance of power will shift, and who knows what that will mean for Circle?

It wasn't in the last book, at least I don't remember it as well.

I thought that that particular story will only be known in the next Hordes book?

Also, if Kromac is supposedly such a badass, why hasn't he learned to throw the damn axe like Madrak did?

Opps! Uh, ignore me. Nothing to see here. Move along. Move along.

Saying things I shouldn't be saying because you are right, it wasn't in the last book...

Winkwinknudgenudge are you confusing it with the fight where kromac tries to get to madrak and the axe, fails and ends up chopping borka into sushi as a bonus? :p

So Madrak and Kromac don't fight, but Madrak looses the axe, somehow and the Old Witch gets it and gives it to Kromac? Interesting...

The Old Witch. People who wonder why she has such long claws don't understand just how far she has to reach to get her fingers into every single pie in the world...

Well, you know the Old Witch was a Warlock in the Circle of Orboros. IIRC, she was a founding member?

The Unleashed IKRPG seems to be drifting away from this notion. It sounds like she has been around for ever and that the Old Witch/Circle had mutual aims at some point, but her goal has always been the progression of the Khadoran people.

In the last book, the axe did something and teleported Madrak's
army back to safety. He still had the book.

I think Tamwulf is a Time Traveler. I said it.

I blank on the old witch time to time, as to if she was a full on circle warlock or if she just works with them when it suits her. I like the second one more, I see her as a spirit of the north sort of thing

the book of that fluff hasn't happened yet. It will be out later this year IIRC. The model was simply released at the 10th hordes anniversary.
