I... actually don't know. Help?

Hello everyone! I really wanted to have a painting station. I don't know why, they just seem cool. I don't have access to plywood or MDF, s I used cardboard. Enjoy!
Properties: 45 x 29 x 6 cm (for the base), 45 x 5 cm (for the paint 'rack'), 23 x 6 cm (for the shelf)

I started out with the cardboard box of a Laptop.

Cut off the lid and all parts that stick out. This should leave you with this:

This step is optional: I took 2 sheets of bendable plastic. I unfortunately don't know the exact material, I just added it too make the cardboard waterproof in case I spill any shades or washes, and to let me use it as a palette

Now comes the customization: I added a small paint rack, nothing fancy, just something to hold extra paint, and a small shelf for minis that are drying, with a few holes for paintbrushes.

Thanks for reading!

Really awesome station if you don't have the time or money to make something that's really expensive (like me). How long did it take you to make this???

"The space marine officer was waving and yelling to his men on the wall unaware he was leading the Squiggoth on. Stompy (the squiggoth) headbutted its way through the wall and gave chase to the terrified commander as he ran up seven tiers of the fortress, trying to close gates behind him and ordering men to cover his fight. In the end, stompy cornered and pulverised the officer in the heart of the citadel as thousands of orks poured through the breaches he had left behind."

That looks pretty good, and relatively simple and cheap to make, too! I may just have to make one myself if I have any suitable cardboard boxes around!

My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/1/23, including modeled wargear options):
Dark Angels: ~15000 Astra Militarum: ~1200 | Adeptus Custodes: ~1900 | Imperial Knights: ~2000 | Sisters of Battle: ~3500 | Leagues of Votann: ~1200 | Tyranids: ~2600 | Stormcast Eternals: ~5000

@Cobra, it took about half an hour, excluding the time it took for the glue to dry.

@ZergSmasher, if you can't find any, go to your closest Walmart or something and ask for some!

Why did you smear glue everywhere? I'm confused.

If we fail to anticipate the unforeseen or expect the unexpected in a universe of infinite possibilities, we may find ourselves at the mercy of anyone or anything that cannot be programmed, categorized or easily referenced.

For the two sheets of bendable plastic I assume.

Killer. I need something like this as the only place I can paint at the moment is on my couch and coffee table. Pretty sure I have some suitable boxes laying around as well so now I just need the plastic.

Seems expensive to buy a laptop to get this paint station...

A cheap dinner tray from the dollar store would work too, screw from underneath to firmly attach stuff on topthen add stick-on felt feet or screw down from the top into anything you fancy for feet: Like hockey pucks for that extra weighed down station.
Possibilities are endless.
One of those simple ideas that could lead to insane: easy idea to build-on.
I like it.

Simple concept, and well executed. I think I'll have to try this.
