Those cast ground plates look very, very nice. How did you make them? Overall I really like the bases. Nice one!

Thank you Singleton. The ground plate master is all plasticard. I filled and cleaned and primed it then made a mold in silicone. I made them for a larger terrain piece that I was working on but ended up using them in this piece. I think they work well with the muddy trench like environment.

I actually meant the Trench plates. Did you make these from plasticard as well?

Yes all plasticard. Love those Death Rider reposes you have been working on Singleton.
Thanks Brother-Captain Scotti, I'll have to up the ante now for the next lot of shots.
Automatically Appended Next Post: My recently completed Hades breaching drill...
I love this model- such a simple design but fun to paint and weather. Shelving a couple of my tanks to focus on the drill allowed me to experiment with some of the techniques I plan to use later. This was airbrushed with Minitaire and AK Interactive acrylics with the odd GW paint pot also. Being Forgeworld resin, after a clean, it was primed with a dusting of autoprimer and then a smooth coat of Tamiya Fine Gray. This is then a perfect surface for AK's rust colours, a coat of chipping fluid and then the main colour. Brushes and toothpicks cut back the finish to a nice weathered heavy construction machinery look. This was all sealed well with a satin acrylic varnish ready for detailing and decals. Once sealed again with a matt varnish AK enamels were used to stain, streak and leave dirt/sand deposits. Final metallic surfaces were scribed with a 8B lead pencil and the pistons were finished with True Metal wax paint. I highly recommend the AK dirt and dust deposits for tanks and vehicles, it's great with all the competition for paints these days we have some amazing weathering mediums/pigments to choose from. Beats sanding down my chalk pastels.

Beautiful! Great painting and photography. I also really like the giant drill. That is a model you don't see very often. Keep up the great work.

My work-in-progress tank destroyer.
I love this model- simple design, went together well and a classic StuG III profile.
This is pretty much a test piece for my bigger Valdor Tank Hunter that is built but unprimed.

Thanks Demented duo.
My recently completed turret...
Finished with Forge World transfers and AK Interactive and MIG pigments/enamels over GW acrylics. Quick to paint and fun to weather.
Dust shook loosely in the air as the pounding autocannon turret spewed flaming shells across the trenches toward the Vraksian heretics. The firing signaled the charge and the Krieg infantry launched across the gap in the trench into the closing fray of horrors.

Thanks guys.
It would be a lot of fun to develop a more solid story around the skirmish but to do this I better get cracking and paint a hell of a lot more Krieg... and whatever they are facing down.

Stunning work dude...
Not sure if to praise more the quality of the painting or the Photoshop skills. While pretty much any of us could do that i guess, it shows a lot of care re: light source, shadowing and smoothing.
And well, the painting is amazing! Keep it up, looking forward to see more of your stuff!

Thank you all for the comments. To add to the growing army of muddy trench warriors I have recently finished this two man mortar team. A lot fiddlier than the larger, heavy siege mortar but a lot quicker to paint. Finished with AK Interactive and Mig enamels and powders over Games Workshop acrylics.
