Hi all,

Just a quick question, what happened to the Angry Badger guys? They had some neat terrain and a really awesome drop ship, but I can't seem to find them any more.

Did they get eaten by their namesake?

I can tell you what I've heard.

Essentially, they got a "cease and desist" from the city, moved to another state, and then USPS price increases made the business untenable. Something like 70% of their sales were from Europe and the UK.

I believe one of them still has the laser cutter and uses it for...something. Haven't heard much since he left CA.

That is too bad. I'm finally at a point where I can buy a sweet dropship.

If that is what you want, and you live in the continental US, then chances are decent that can be arranged, if the molds for the resin pieces have survived the moving process.

How can you get a C&D from a city?

A lot of cities require business licenses for a whole host of things.

They'll often scan people's tax returns and then ask them to get the permit; it happened to me, and I was just an independent contractor basically doing a day job. No DBA, no work out of the home. I just was a worker with a different classification who happened to live in this city. Assuming that's what these guys got nailed for, I can imagine a situation where fees and fines racked up enough that the city just sent a C+D.

(My city was two years behind when it requested I buy a business license, for example, and wanted me to buy both years' licenses, plus late fees).

Off the top of my head, I can also imagine a few other scenarios: one of their manufacturing processes ran afoul of some arcane law regarding chemicals; their work was classified as industrial, but was in a residential zone; etc. etc.

Yeah, I too was wondering what happened to them, I also wanted one of their drop ships. Kicking myself now for not jumping on their pre-order. It's too bad, what a way to go!

I think it was more like the second two reasons. Essentially, they were putting out fumes 12 hours a day in a residential zone next to a wildlife refuge. So, yeah, probably the chemicals or the zoning or both had something to do with it.

Bad news.

I heard from the guy with the laser cutter. The molds for the resin bits were lost in the move, and he has a full time job with travel that will prevent him from making any more dropships for the foreseeable future.

I was literally in the process of discussing and organising with them to order a bunch of Not-LotR walls and towers and sci-fi ones when they stopped trading. Like, by a couple of days.

What date was that? I was unaware of Angry Badger's demise until after the fact.

Maybe I'll just send a PM, since I have other questions, and don't want to derail the thread with specifics about the Angry Badger company and where they did go...
