Hey everyone. I just picked up a few guard squads that I think will go well with my current Blood Angels. I was hoping for some list feedback/criticism. My goal isn't to stomp or powergame anyone, but to have a fun list with a lot of bodies that won't get rolled over.

Primary detachment Baal Strike force

HQ:
Librarian ML2, JP, Force Sword - 105
Sanguinary Priest - BP, JP - 76

Troops:
10x Tac marines - Flamer, Heavy flamer, 2x Hand flamers, Rhino - 220

5x Tac marines - Plasma gun, Razorback with TL Assault Cannon - 170

Elites:
9x Death company - JP for the squad, Thunder hammer - 237

5x Sanguinary guard - 3x Sword and 2x axe, Chapter banner, masks - 195

Furioso dread - Frag cannon, heavy flamer, Magna grapples, Drop pod - 165

Fast attack:
5x Assault marine - 2x melta - 105

Allied detachment Astra Militarum

HQ:

Company command squad - Banner - 75

Troops:

Infantry platoon:
PCS - 30
10x guardsmen - Grenade launcher - 55
10x guardsmen - Grenade launcher - 55

Total: 1488 (Will probably throw melta bombs on the Blood Angel IC's)
Priest goes with the sanguinary guard and the librarian goes with the death company. All of the Blood Angels scream up the board and try to get into assault while the guard move up to mid/back field to secure objectives and provide some minor fire support. I feel that the 30 bodies I can get for around 200 points will be great to have during maelstrom games. If I were to move up to 1850, I have plenty of Blood Angels to add. They include tactical terminators, tri-las pred, stormraven, land raiders, more death company and assault marines, a load of tactical marines, and a few scouts. My astra militarum collection is pretty much all I have listed here. I just started collecting a few of them. So let me know what you all think of this list!

I've never played with Astra Militarum so I don't have much I can comment on for that. For the BA, I would switch out the Furioso for a Death Company Dread instead. Just give it blood talons and a drop pod. That would work better for your assault heavy theme. Though I love the look of Thunder Hammers, Power Fists do the same thing for less. Thunder Hammers really only come into play if you're fighting a lot of MCs. I would also drop one Hand Flamer on the TS to free up some more points. Now you have enough to either take Veritas Vitae or Valor's Edge on your warlord. Either of these can help your list out. Other than that, it looks good.

I have been wondering about Veritas Vitae myself... How exactly does it work? Do I take 2 strategic traits with it or can I do 1 BA trait and then get the bonus strategic trait?

You can take one of any allowed trait as normal and then the Veritas Vitae lets you get one roll on the strategic traits. So you can have two strategic traits or just a combination of one and one of something else.

Relics would be nice, but I was thinking the DC and Guard would be doing the heavy lifting so I tried to keep the HQs pretty cheap. I was also planning on rolling on the blood angels warlord traits. Have you had more luck on strategic?
