IMHO, Psychic Deathstars, Gladius/Skyhammer and Eldar Gunlines, Daemon Summoning and Pentaflyrant are the big boys right now. I think my list has the tools to handle these. What do people think?

Ultramarines CAD (1610)

Tigurius
Librarian: ML2, Auspex

5x Scouts: Meltabombs - Land Speeder Storm
5x Scouts: Meltabombs - Land Speeder Storm
5x Scouts: Meltabombs - Land Speeder Storm

Stormtalon: SML
Stormtalon: SML
Drop Pod

2x TFC
2x Hunter
4x Centurion Devastators: Omniscope, ML

Imperial Bunker: Escape Hatch, Void Shield

Inquisitorial Detachment (100)

Coteaz

Officio Assassinorum Detachment (140)

Cullexus Assassin

Total: 1850

So, between the bunker and drop pod I can protect the Centstar and the Cullexus from alpha strikes while also giving them the delivery systems they need. Coteaz can help fight the drop pod assaults, get plasma out of double-tap range and push out rival Cullexus assassins. I've got some AA to fight the FMCs. I've got the Cullexus to fight Psychic Deathstars. I've got TFCs to beat down Eldar Jetbikes, Gravbikes, etc. And I've got some mobile obsec.

How can I optimize?

It's a cool list, but I think you're going to have a lot of trouble MEQs. A drop pod assault army is going to be a pretty terrible thing for you to face, imo.

Appreciate the response. But, I specifically designed this to be able to fight the common top dogs, including Gladius/Skyhammer drop pods. In that event, this is what my deployment looks like:

Let's say they get top turn to run a worst case scenario:

Centstar in Bunker (immune to grav): Coteaz allows me to shoot at EVERY unit that drops within 12". So no melta range near my bunker or they get vaped. Grav can't hurt me. Plasma will be out of double-tap range, and no units within assault range. Unless the podding player castles up near their board edge instead of alpha striking, I'll grab first blood no problem.

My TFCs will be deployed in 3+ cover from improving terrain. And they are not hard to hide completely out of LOS.

Everything else in reserves; and Tiggy gives me his pseudo comms relay.

Killing lots of MSU pods and combat squads in an objective-based mission is tough for everyone. But that's what target priority is for!

I don't think you put out enough shots quick enough nor have a speed bump ready to blunt a fast assault into your lines. The Bunker can be overrun quickly without an assault speed bump. I'm specifically thinking of two assault threats to you. An imperial Knight, most likely a Castigator which ignores Invisibility. Or second a speed Daemons list which ignores grav. Belakor and Nurgle Princes can junk away for 2+ cover and make it into your lines fairly quickly. With no counter assault threat on the ground, they will be free to rampage through your units.

Yup. I'm worried about this. The Cullexus can nuke some of the psychic assault threats, but if I can't kill the knight before it assaults, he's a problem. Now, I play mostly NOVA missions, so knights are not allowed, but in the ITC, this would be a huge problem.

Why can't Grav hurt you? In your bunker 1 unit of Sky hammer devs drops 13" pumps 23 Grav shots into bunker killing it. Next one pumps 23 Grav shots into your star killing it. ASMs assault the TFCs. Sky hammer seems a pretty poor match up for you.

Well, they have to chop through the Void Shield first; and if they want to charge the TFCs, which would be deployed behind the bunker, they have to drop within 12", which is a non-sequitor.

It's not a good matchup, I'm just saying it's survivable.

They can also simply deep strike behind your bunker, since the are no fire points that would let you shoot them if you are hiding within it.

Line of sight is also a requirement of Coteaz's ability, and you would be unable to draw line of sight behind the bunker.

23 twinlinked Grav shots averages 6 HPs that is the void shield and the bunker gone, assuming nothing else targets it. It is quite possible to field 2 Skyhammers and a FBSC at this points level. You're not terrible at weathering it but there are better candidates (Thunderknightstar, Decurions, FBSCs). Not sure this is a meta buster. But a solid list.

Be pretty tough to deep strike behind me unless I deployed with exceptional stupidity.

But I get what FlintItNow is saying; double Skyhammer would probably wipe me. Of course, no list is perfect. Maybe I should change the title of the list to: Simple TAC.
