Granted I don't have a ton of experience yet in this game which has a lot to do with my struggles, I'm having a hard time going against my friend's Ranged Cygnar. He usually runs either Stryker or Nemo and always Black 13. He's also the player I play against 90% of the time. I primarily run p&eKaya with the normal stone shenanigans but have also dipped into pBaldur.

I'm not looking for an easy button, just some advice on dealing with all those guns and lightning.
Thanks!

Now I'm no Circle player but Druids should be able to give Cygnar fits.

I have a peanut allergy. It's really inconsiderate.

Druids can put up their cloud walls.

You may also consider Bradigus's theme force. Lots of Wolds that he won't be able to hurt and forests which block LoS.

Stalkers can prowl for stealth. Try eMorvhanna with a pair of Stalkers, Gorax, Bloodtrackers with Nuala, Skinwalkers with UA, 2 trees, and double stones. The Stalkers prowl can trigger with Fog of War, and she's just circle's best caster in general.

While he has the B13 to remove your stealth, blocking LOS with the items mentioned above is an effective idea.

Warpwolf and Argus pair is fun as well, as you can give the Warpwolf Pathfinder from the Argus, warp for speed and just walk super fast through a forest to kill something on the other side (hope for the B13) then use Kaya to teleport the wolf back to her to safety.

Then your other stealth units can be safe from sniping

Druids blocking LOS can help but a Cygnar list with gun mages and a caster with dead eye will be able to kill the druids rather quickly.

Honestly as someone who played Cygnar, eKrueger is probably your best bet as well as maybe eMorvhanna. Bradigus would probably do fine but you don't want a easy button.

eKrueger is really good against Cygnar since between stormwall and his feat you can have a much better game against eHaley than other casters. If they feat on you can counter feat with stormwall up and still be in a pretty good position. He is still money vs. anyone else.

If he plays Nemo, Druids aren't going to help, electro leaps will do the job

Cygnar (133) | 82% painted - Menoth (65) | 92% painted
Mercenaries (52) | 53% painted - Circle Orboros (42) | 92% painted - Minions (20) | 0% painted

Systems I play : Warmachine, Hordes, Star Wars X-Wing, Star Trek Attack Wing, Malifaux & Bolt Action.

Actually the UA for the druids can cast Elemental Protection every turn and then the druids are immune to the electro leaps.

Yup. The Druid UA laughs at e-leaps.

eKreuger is a good idea too. Stormwall is a nasty kick in the junk for gunline cygnar.

Thank you for all the replies! I'll give Druids and the UA a shot then.

And if he plays anything but Nemo, you're guaranteed to see some Gun Mages w/UA which negates the concealment, so swings and roundabouts if you're playing divide and conquer.

Be sure to play scenarios. Be sure there is a reasonable amount of terrain on the table.

Cygnar also can pick and choose a lot of units that are good at dealing with a certain problem. So if you play 90% of the time they will probably take things that are rocks to your scissor.

IMO, the best thing you can do is expand your model selection so that they don't know what you are going to use. What I sometimes do is select my army. set the cards all in a pile, but not let my opponent see it. I let them know this is my list and they can look at it once they have chosen their list.

It works really well to stop people from stacking their army to counter yours and forces them to take a more balanced approach.

<edit> it works even better if you have more than one faction, but if you are just starting the game I would stay focused for now.
