Just when I was thinking of selling off my old Cryx stuff that has never seen a table top, I found this on the bargain rack at my local store.
Don't really know why they were on clear out, is it because there's a plastic set now? Ah well, whatever the reason I'm happy for 30% off.
Now, are the Bile Thralls any good? I remember when I first bought the Cryx boxed set and unit cards a few years back that I was intrigued by Goreshade the Bastard. Is he any good? Right now, along with the Bile Thralls I have Warwitch Deneghra, a bigger 'Jack and two or three small 'Jacks. What should I go for next?

I do see people use bile thralls a lot with Lich Lord Asphyxious. People use them for their purge ability primarily.
As far what to get I would look at getting cryx infantry. Any units with bane or Satyxis in their title are generally considered really good. You will need some bane thralls at least with Goreshade the Bastard since his feat summons a unit of them. Mechanithralls are also really good.
After that I would look at some solos like Warwitch Sirens or Bane Lord Tartarus.

Google excarnate + bile thralls
Basically they are great at wiping out single wound infantry which most people play alot of.

Bile Thralls are some of the most devastating anti infantry units in the game if you can deliver them. They auto hit and kill basically any single wound infantry in the game (and if they fail to break ARM they still usually die to corrosion) - the fact that they auto hit also means they can kill off high DEF solos pretty well as well (i.e. Eiryss). The trick of course if getting them in position to do so without being shot off the table - their defensive stats are absolutely terrible. They are most commonly used with Gaspy2 because of Excarnate but they do we use in other lists with ways to get them across the table (Occultation being the other main one used).

Bile Thralls are STUPIDLY powerful.
Asphixious2 and Bile Thralls is a really powerful combo because of Excarnate.

To be fair, Gaspy2 is more than just bile thralls + excarnate. If that was all it took to be stupidly powerful then Scaverous would be considered even more powerful.
Bile thralls can lay waste to an army. But they are mediocre to terrible against most things with boxes and decent ARM. They also die to a stiff breeze so need to be screened or otherwise avoid getting shot off the board. Also engaging them in melee will stop them from blowing up.
I use them on occasion in certain scenarios as they can sometimes hide behind clouds or terrain and then ghostly up and explode to clear a zone.
