Hi everyone,

I have decided to keep a log of my entry to armies on parade this year, I have entered twice before and am reasonably well prepared this year!

I am mostly a painter, only play the odd time and I do not strictly follow the fluff (armour MKs etc) - sorry if that upsets anyone!

The force will mostly be word bearers with a few other bits chucked in.

I have a few bits painted up so far so will show them first - just phone pics that are not great quality, if people are interested in the blog I will add better quality pics!

Brutes



As you may have guessed I like brutes!

Have a few more Emperors Children/Noise Marines



The emperors children started as a small Kill team painting project but I liked them so much I want to integrate them into my chaos army, hence the brute! The will be getting expanded later into0 a full Ravenwing army with lots of chaos bits as a kinda mid change army.

I have some cultists on the way and a few other nice models to paint up plus the board, will hopefully be adding a few lights and nice effects so hopefully you should find it interesting!

All comments/critisisms welcome as are any suggestions and questions!

Hi guys, thanks for the replies and glad you liked the models!

Here are some cultists I have finished, 2 squads of 10. Will be expanding these to run the fearless Hellbrute formation later but don't think that will get done in time for the parade day.

Sorry the pics are not great they slightly wash out the colours, I will try to get hold of a better camera later! The pictures don't really do these guys justice as I think they have turned out really well!

Here are some supplies that turned up today so I can start thinking about my board!

Hi guys,

Here are my first attempts at using the water effect I bought.

I think I may have bought the wrong stuff and instead of something you can pour for a flat self leveling effect this stuff is like really thick PVA and needs spooned on!

Here are my test trenches.



One has some Blood for the Blood Good put at the bottom, will be putting the stuff in neat to see how it looks.



This is a mix of the goo plus BFTBG before putting this into the other trench.



The colour looks terrible as the goo is white and has turned the blood red into a pink, hopefully once it dries clear it will go back to clear!

How it looks now.



Did not fill the second trench as it looks kinda weird and I did not want to waste time/materials if this is a bust!

Now I just need to wait 24 hrs to see how it finishes up!

Here is my completed Decimator - I will probably just use him as a brute but he looks pretty cool! Hope you like him!







With this guy plus the 3 brutes and rhino hopefully I should have reasonable board presence.

Still waiting to show the water effects, not sure it's fully dry so will give it another day!

I will hopefully do a rough mock up of the board this week so you can see the idea behind it!

Hi all,

Not had much time to post but a quick update to show how things are going.

The blood effect is not working great, going to need to try something else I think!



The top one is almost right but is not smooth enough - I think when I try this again it will be a couple of thin layers rather than a thick one.

If anyone can offer advice on a blood pool I would love to hear it!

Here is everything laid out and a few marks drawn to give a rough idea of the board.



The back of the board will be getting built up into a rock face with some guys standing on it and a cave built in with the chaos hound living in it.

And here is the chaos symbol that will have the blood in it cut out.
